And if you've got a shitty employer who refused and said "be here at 9, leave at 5". If you don't you're on disciplinary. If you don't like it you can find another job. And due to money issues you can't afford to leave.

You really should learn the difference between right and wrong and popularity. Just because something is popular doesn't make it right. These changes are being made because Johnson thinks they'll be popular. Not because they're right.

Fuck I'm starting to feel a bit drowsy and sleepy. Must stay alert. Will have to put an espresso next to my bed just in case.

Yep. R = 1 should be a long way down the curve, not the peak of it. Also at no point did it show the possibility of R going back up again and restrictions being put back in place, which it should do to show things could get worse again if people don't 'stay alert' (whatever the fuck that means).

The impression I'm sort of getting from Johnson is a hidden "get back to work scum" hidden inside a massive dollop of craving popularity by easing lockdown a bit because people are getting sick of it. But make it massively ambiguous so if/when it goes tits up you can blame the public rather than...

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

Remember Stanley sneeringly saying that he doubted most of the working class couldn't even spell Pinocchio. They consider average people an underclass who're effectively a sub-species. It's common throughout that class. If this was 200 years ago he'd still be all for slavery and restricting the...

Because too many people were taken in by slogans, personality and rhetoric feeding into their fears and prejudices. For a lot of people they're reaping what they have sowed. Unfortunately the rest of us are suffering from this scorched earth policy.

German start next week thrown into Doubt

But all of those broad stroke statements apply to the UK as well. And the US. And probably most other places too.

As I've seen written elsewhere if the govt want everyone back to work then parliament itself should be the first adopters to prove it's safe. Said it numerous times before if the govt want to bring stuff in they should be made to be the first to adopt the rules instead of the usual which is...

I think it'd got to the point where he couldn't leave off coming back any longer so it didn't look totally obvious when he made a miraculous recovery after several weeks when the figures really started dropping. So once there was a slight reduction phase Johnson back in. He is still letting...

    Sick of the Telegraph

Part of me thinks this was a club ploy to discredit him and the CT. Deliberately feed them inaccurate info so when it turns out not to be true he and the paper look silly and like they're just making stuff up. Meanwhile give someone less critical like Reid the actual info so he looks in the know...

    Liam Kelly

Kelly would most definitely be given the opportunity in the Championship, especially if Walsh and O'Hare don't return. As long as he can manage his energy throughout games he should be fine, but would probably need a post-Xmas rest, where he's on the bench and brought on as a stabilising...

    Bundesliga going ahead

This was exactly one of the scenarios I hypothesised about affecting games going forward and why were people being so keen to get next season started when the chances of it being disrupted were even greater than this one.
