    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

Although it's still way to early to say, the early indicators do look like those places that didn't lockdown quickly or hard are suffering the most. The reason for that - worries of the effect on the economy - so hardly surprising those badly affected are predominantly those will the most...

I was wondering why the news wasn't covering this and my thoughts were them being told by some govt official "If you report on this it'll undermine lockdown effectiveness as people will think if they're letting these pople in with no checks/quarantine why and I allowing myself to be stuck...

Control their purse strings - people still have to live. Lots of wannabe 'journalists out there so if you restrict the job opportunities for those that actually do their job properly in favour of those that just write from whatever angle you want those proper journalists either have to suffer...

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

It is utter madness. The talk in the press conferences of winning the battle and past the peak and almost immediately talking about easing of restrictions. Considering Trump has put all these travel restrictions in place from abroad (always the foreigners) the fact it's still a growing problem...

I fear you may be right. I'll stop sort of suggesting it is intentional to use the excuse our health system can't cope, but even so the US are one of the few places that have (thus far) to have dealth with it even worse than we have. So to potentially put the health service on the table to a...

Given some of the views of the advisors in No. 10 there is that nagging doubt in my mind whether or not the care home thing could have been intentional. Reduce costs short term with increased death, less pensions etc to pay. I can't believe even they're so stupid as to not have thought "hang on...

EFL Decision on Coventry’s future expected today

Surely he means training. Even that seems a bit optimistic

EFL Decision on Coventry’s future expected today

I imagine it's to do with the level of inactivity and not being able to have much of a 'pre-season', inc. games so fears over player fitness. Still a stupid idea though. Shouldn't just go around changing such fundamentals mid-season even in unprecedented times. I might just see a case for...

If we can get the antibody tests going that'll be a start because a. If we can get people tested we can have a better idea of how many people have had it in the wider community b. It provides more potential material to work on an antibody based vaccine, potentially speeding up the introduction...

Any ground with a 5G pitch unsuitable for FL requirements as it believed in some quarters it increases the likelihood of transmission of coronavirus. Some fans are burning the 5G pitches as a precaution.

Quite frankly I'd prefer the staples! Can't stand cauliflower cheese. Not a big fan of cauliflower, love cheese but somehow the addition makes the cauliflower worse. Mind you I love chips and cheese but cheesy chips are something I just don't get.

    Injuries

The reason I'm worried about Jones is that the nature of his injury I imagine he was doing a lot of strengthening work around his knee to protect it and if he can't have that monitored at training I fear it may create a weakness that could aggravate the injury (or even worse make it reoccur)...

For me it would depend on if we have to pay additional match costs on top of rent. If we do we may as well use the training ground to avoid them. Not like our league uses all the technology available in the bigger stadiums.

You said this despite Labour not being in power at any point between when the problem was highlighted and now. The only reason they even did a 'stress test' for pandemic was Labour put in in motion and Tories psuhed it back two years as it was. As I said I reckon we wouldn't have got all the...

    The Final Run In

I think the player ratings in the game would have had most of our players as being bang average for this league whereas in reality a number of ours stepped up to way beyond that. Also the tactics etc might be different or our midfield square doesn't translate very well into the game. I assume...
