Makes sense. No Kelly or Eccles at the moment. Leaving only Shipley and Allen, smart to leave options open for Sunday

Godden in final year of contract isn't he?

To an extent maybe but even our second string should be able to beat Northampton? Wilson Drysdale-pask-hyam/rose/fadz Da costa--------------------Reid -----------shipley-Allen -------------Jones/Bright ------Godden(if fit)-Walker Hopefully we will have a couple of signings in at the back, but...

Tbf Burroughs played for us last season in the championship? I would say Northampton would be a good opportunity to showcase himself. I see others have said the same - ignore!

To be fair, I don't see why fringe players should need over a week to recover? Especially with a disrupted pre-season we could do with getting minutes into those that need them. I agree it won't be the team listed above but think it should have players who won't be involved on Sunday/ are...

Agreed. I also think people have to realise that whilst the summer holidays work in terms of attending games for some people they don't work for others. Lots of people are away on staycations, or with the easing of lockdown spending time with family/friends.

Yep my thinking exactly, a lot of them haven't had a chance at 90 mins. So it makes sense to get minutes in before a competitive game.

To be fair, just from a HR perspective you would think there are potential breaches of contract/ could be done on capability. Need the full details of what has happened before jumping all over this though.

It's weird because all the Comms straight after the wolves game have said 'our last pre-season game'. I imagine it will be more fringe players than the starters from today perhaps?

You do realise that it doesn't only have to be in the league though when you say on the pitch? That's what seems to be missing. On the pitch also includes the training field? Where even our manager has said he's incredibly talented? I agree I don't think he's the biggest talent on our books...

    Forest

Not really? There are countless players throughout history who have had more talent than their careers suggest but haven't had the attitude to succeed. As somebody who has studied sports science, we constantly talk and debate the idea of talent Vs skill. Most people accept talent is as I defined...

    Forest

Tbf no it doesn't. Talent by it's very definition is somebody's natural aptitude. IE. What they are born with. Skill is the things that you mention. Bright is very talented. But whether he has the skills (application, discipline and work rate), the things that you refine with hours of practice...

Don't disagree (see last post, won't repeat myself) but just can't see it being both given potential other targets.

    Match Thread Wolves Freindly

I'm just basing it off the fact we were told 3/4 more signings before maatsen came in. I can't imagine the 'long-term target is Craine or souare, so I think it will be a loan CB as the long-term target and I'm still expecting a CM, so I don't see there being the scope for both. Agreed could...

Don't disagree, think he did okay given the opposition. I just think if it is as I suspect an either/or situation then I'd prefer Souare. With consideration to the fact like you say I don't think him and fadz would be a great in a 3 together over a prolonged run of games.

    Match Thread Wolves Freindly

Agreed, I get the feeling it's a either or with him or Craine, with the other defensive player being a loan and then a CM. Based of what I have seen I'd say Souare is worth the punt over Craine

Agreed, both look to link up very well and make intelligent runs, but neither seem to have that instinct to just hit it. But waghorn has scored at this level so worth giving both more time. And walker and godden offer that anyway. Good options.

Do you understand that's not how football works? Exhibit A where Craine was just isolated and tried to rugby tackle him.
