Buying and keeping players in their "prime" (26-30 ish) is the most expensive way to run a club. Transfer fees for them will be high, their wage demands will be high and when it's time for them to move on you will get less for them and may also struggle to shift them because of said wage...

city fans trying not to tell people how many matches they go to but I agree, it's an area to improve. I guess my opinion is that our run of good form is more representative of the situation we will be in next season. I blame our two runs of bad form on 5 at the back and then not having any...

Shit tactics? We’ve used largely the same tactics as our good spell though? I guess a lot of your frustrations seem misplaced to me. I look at this season and think the ways we could’ve done better were 1. Switching from 3/5 at the back earlier 2. Bringing in more than one player in Jan...

What’s a fair whack in your view? We’d probably get 5-800k max for Bidwell. Don’t see us spending 15-20m unless Sheaf leaves and Vik moves.

    Summer transfer window 2024

You haven’t watched him so you have no idea how good he is or how he plays. Also, there’s plenty to criticise our centre backs for but one thing they’re actually pretty good at is going forward with the ball and driving us up the pitch.

Genuinely curious, if it’s not fatigue and injury that has caused our form to dip what do you think it is? And do you not think that players like Wright, Sheaf, Eccles, Milan etc. have looked genuinely tired on the pitch recently?

    Tiredness

I would hazard a guess that for a lot of our players this year it will be the most minutes they’ve ever played in a season, so they’re not used to it. Also it’s distribution. We played 8 games in April, with 4 really tough ones (Leeds, Soton, United, Ipswich). Doubt we ever had a run like that...

    Tiredness

Those teams would get absolutely fucking battered by elite teams today. I’m talking 10/15-0. They would look like amateurs. It’s incomparable.

Torp is that player, you can see his ball striking is a level above the others. Kelly is finished really, doesn’t have the legs to play in our system. To be honest, it’s not really a necessity imo. Wright and Simms should get 30-40 between them. Sakamoto/EMC hopefully 5-10 each. Maybe 10 goals...

Of course we’re relying on wingers more, we didn’t play any last year! 🤣

Some perspective please (for the bedwetters)

We're only losing one loan player vs 4/5 last year. All our key players have 2+ years left on their contract rather than 1, meaning we're in control of any sales. The team isn't reliant on 2 players anymore, we have quality in multiple areas. Need I go on?

Some perspective please (for the bedwetters)

As I thought lol. You're so caught up in the short term you can't see we're in a far better position now. I don't even need to explain why we are, it's so obvious.

Some perspective please (for the bedwetters)

Money spent? We've made a net profit on transfers since then. And as you say, we've increased the quality of the squad. Do you not agree we're going into this summer in a better position than last? If so, why the negativity? Disappointing run yes, but nothing worth throwing a strop about.

£30 a head If DK is serious about the 5 year plan then having the south stand permanently open to home fans is the logical thing to do, for many reasons.

It's similar to how we ended 21/22. "Not good enough" - what does this useless platitude mean?

Some perspective please (for the bedwetters)

We were right in contention with 4/5 games to go and have tailed off due to injury/fatigue. I'd describe that as coming up short. Anyway it makes little difference to me whether we're 1 or 10 points off. We're actually in a better position than we were last summer.
