    Transfer Rumour Ellis Simms

It was classy, reminded me of Sir Malcolm Sargent conducting the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

Win promotion or the FA Cup ?

I just liked the way you decided that someone disagreeing with you must surely be a shy way of admitting they agreed with you!

Think Wingy might have misunderstood me :)

Win promotion or the FA Cup ?

Excellent stuff - I'm saving this one for future use on here

Win promotion or the FA Cup ?

The two clubs you mention aren't great advertisements for the transformative powers of promotion to the Premier League. Unless you mean it helped them win the FA Cup...

Win promotion or the FA Cup ?

If that's really how you feel, I can't see much point bothering with competitive sport!

    Transfer Rumour Ellis Simms

You'd have to ask @skybluecam. Not sure whether he got it from a stats website or whether he (as I suspect) worked it out himself. Either way, it rings true and it's a significant finding.

Yep, that's the place I always look first. But I've found them here... Edit: those figs refer to Simms

You're right about that, and somebody posted those very stats earlier today, but I can't find them now.

Win promotion or the FA Cup ?

I generally find I agree with your contributions on here :) But this is an even more weird take than your asessment of Ellis Simms. 1987 is our only entry in the list of major honours, yet you talk about it as if it was just a nice experience at the time.

    Plymouth Ratings

My thoughts entirely. Already delivering in the Championship, which is more than we could reasonably expect, and a godsend considering the injuries to Sheaf and Allen.

    This is not nostalgia but…

Jodi is a proper talented player, two-footed and intelligent, and I certainly thought he had potential to play a couple of levels above in his early days with us. His progress was ruined by those horrible injuries, but he's clearly delivering again now. IMO the only question marks over his...

Pint of Guinness in hand. They are relaxed about this fixture.

    Something urgent needs to happen

Not sure you can have a league table that grades the effects of ignorance or abuse according to the nationality of the sufferer? There are plenty of ‘power dynamics’ between England and its neighbours, and real life effects on people. In my mind though, the level of offence always depends on...
