Are we wanting a Preston win today?

I disagree. The town centre's not great (but still better than Cov nowadays) but Old Town is lovely, they have a 'curry island' and some fantastic sports centres in West Swindon.

Are we wanting a Preston win today?

I have links to Swindon and worked there for a few years so I'd like to see them go up. They were also fantastic when they trounced us - although we may have been able to make many sides look like world beaters at that time. And of course it'll be nice for XTC. Not aware of any good bands...

    Bigirimana and this mystery illness?

I agree. I think a lot of people miss the point that you don'r HAVE to say everything you think. Often these people excuse themselves by saying 'well at least I'm genuine, you have to take me as you find me' - no, you're just inconsiderate. Nothing meant here about previous posts - just...

    Investment rumour.

Nope, just find it all laughable.

    Investment rumour.

It's been said many times before but I still don't believe that SISU has any intention of building a new stadium. 'Twas all posture to try and get the Ricoh asset for a song. An even shorter song than the one Wasps sang.

Hoorah! We now have 'true Coventrians' as well as 'real supporters'.

    Investment rumour.

I don't believe the rumour either but interestingly we could be more attractive without a stadium. If you think that you can invest and as a result get into the premiership for the big money, then skipping the bit where you also have to pay for real estate provides a highly leveraged investment.

    villa after maddison?

I doubt they do much pushing. The £££ signs appear in the agents' eyes immediately and he/she is converted.

Come On The Old Five - Blog

I suspect that now we are back in Coventry no evidence needs to be submitted. It could be that the evidence was due last year and played a part in making them return.

    Other income streams

No, there is no reason why the club couldn't do it in theory. However it doesn't have the funds and IF SISU wanted to do it: 1. They do it as part of another company. 2. They'd want a bargain. They need extraordinary returns - not normal ones that an honest/normal business would get by...

    season tickets /regular attendance

I haven't attended a single game since King signed and generally haven't regretted it, especially having seen performances on TV. I live 100 miles from Cov and it just wasn't worth it. I'll be going more this season - starting with Oxford.

    Today's strongest XI thread

I predict that as every player is signed over the coming months, we will see a new team sheet posted assuming that he, along with all other signings, will be starters - with the possible exception that the news story tells us he is 16 and bought to grow. That won't necessarily be the case...

This Player Cull / Retain List

Once recruitment is finished I'll be surprised if even two of those are in the first 11. However I think Maddison, if still here, will start.

I was there in the Chelsea end. As I recall we scored first and on impulse I cheered. Was lucky to get out alive.
