    I've Done It !

Yep, I'm a bit of Devoto nerd. :) Listened to Jerky Versions of the Dream again recently after a break of some years and it sounds dated though in way that the Magazine stuff doesn't. Also have the Luxuria albums.

    I've Done It !

Have you read the Dostoevsky novella 'Notes from the Underground' which influenced Devoto heavily on 'Song from under the floorboards'? I found it hard-going but generally like his other work (you may know that Crime and Punishment also gets a name check through Raskolnikov in Philadelphia on...

    I've Done It !

It's a painting by Odilon Redon. He did some scary stuff worse than that! :) It's also the cover for the Magazine single 'Give Me Everything'.

Why Pressley will never make it as a manager

When you were mediocre in your first few jobs would it have been fair to say that you'd never be any good?

    I've Done It !

I'd make the argument to you that if you are considering buying you should go for it before proof of signings - or at least before the cheap prices go. Two reasons: 1. Look at Mowbray's track record: we can assume that he'll bring in the right players. 2. We don't yet know the impact that...

Yes, I've also been told something secret by an inconsequential person that I shalln't reveal on here.

    Ann Lucas

Thatcher's a tricky one. She did an awful lot of good things and was PM during a time when the country needed steering away from the abyss. On the other hand, I hated it at the time and she could have certainly achieved the same with a little more empathy.

    Unrealistic signings

Rather than guess the signings, almost all of which will be completely wrong, it could be better to guess unrealistic new blood. I'll kick off with Heath Robinson and Salvador Dali.

Ben Steveson signs...best midfielder in country

Is Thomas still a kid? He's 22 this year, so if he is, this is his last year of being one.

Whatever happened to Coventry city centre?

I'm really pleased to read that it has improved since I was last there. Also good to read that all the restaurants were full one evening - must mean things are picking up. :) I told a small white lie - I was in Pool Meadow about 2 years ago. Didn't recognise it. Of course it's probably...

    Bigirimana and this mystery illness?

I suspected as much. He hasn't played for any big clubs as far as I know. When he yet again failed to get a game at the end of the season I thought 'Must be gout'.

Whatever happened to Coventry city centre?

I left Coventry in 1981, having been lucky to be there during the punk revolution, enjoying the fantastic music scene at that time. Two (at least) fanzines: (Alternative Sounds and Private Enterprise); gigs every weekend with some great bands (Urge, Wild Boys, Specials until they became famous...
