The point that seems to be glossed over, is that the club cannot survive long term without those revenues. Yet, faced with the prospect of the club going under, ACL step in to try and prevent liquidation. Well, you can't have it both ways. You can't bully the club and deny them the revenues...

Of course it can, but realistically can ACL offer a better deal to new owners than the one that was on the table before negotiations broke down? If they do, how can they justify inflicting a points deduction on the club only then to accept a deal worse than what SISU were prepared to agree to...

That second point was quite telling though - a veiled acknowledgement that ACL need the football club. They can claim this is all about saving the club for the fans, but ultimately they are acting in their own self-interest. Others seem to have convinced themselves ACL can survive without the...

Indeed, our situation is very different. I only wish we could all be united with a common goal, but sadly the in-fighting and finger pointing gets worse every day. Bad times.

Can anyone confirm what happens if the court ruling goes against SISU, to which SISU then mount a legal challenge? Do we go into administration at that point, or does the legal challenge have to heard first, and what are the typical timescales? My concern is that this could drag on for months..

What's shit? The fact Chris Brady said it, or what he said? Are you more of an expert than the football business expert? (That billing doesn't necessarily make him right, but it makes him worth listening to).

    Maybe?

It's a gamble they may take, and who could blame them, they have more riding on this than anyone else. SISU's trump card would be to stump up and then announce a move to Nene Park next season. Many fans would react furiously to that, but what exactly could ACL/CCC do about it? And if there...

Just a point of order, we averaged 20K+ in our last 4 PL seasons in a ground that actually held 22.5K. We've also averaged over 20K twice at the Ricoh, so I tend to agree with those who say in the PL we would get 25K+.

My understanding was based on a recent article I read about Pompey (here: http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-fears-over-points-deduction-next-season-1-4852481), and quotes like this: By the time of the hearing – two-and-a-half weeks before the final match of the season – the...

Judging by what I have read here, I'd say views are pretty evenly split. From the conversation amongst 12 of us last night, all but one seemed to side with SISU. But yes, on the CET there seems to be more of an anti-SISU vibe, but then that is not and out and out fan site. I don't really know...

You clearly are quite an unpleasant individual and I have no interest in interacting further with someone with such a high opinion of themselves. While I'm here though, let's just recap. You said that SISU were engaging in 'illegal activities', in response to which I said that was a bold...

If you're going to call everyone who disagrees with you Grendel, then I fear you might be doing it all night, because ours is far from the minority position, quite the opposite from where I sit.

You seem unaware that ultimately it is the Football League that decide when the points deduction will be levied. That will, almost certainly, be next season because any points deduction imposed before the end of this season will have little effect, we will simply go from upper mid-table to...

Non payment of debts is not an illegal act in this country, indeed it isn't in any western society. When the term 'illegal' is used it is usually taken to mean that criminal laws have been broken (and that's what I believed you were saying in the original post). Failing to pay your rent does...

I don't believe that. Nothing changed that day in terms of the club finances, and we muddled on for the two seasons that followed with no imminent risk of going under at any point during that time. No money changed hands, it was merely a commitment to construct a new venue for the club to play...

No they didn't. They saved the stadium project. Had they not done that, the club would have have simply continued to pay the housing company rent to play at Highfield Road, considerably less than what we paid in subsequent years to ACL. The developer would have sat on their investment until...
