    Statement from fisher

He is talking about legal proceedings. Why compromise their position ahead of a court hearing? Clearly SISU are formulating their response and I suspect nothing has been decided yet. Even if you hate them, surely you must understand that they may want to keep their cards close to their chest...

A draw today will suit us nicely.

I don't understand why people are so convinced we would come straight back down. Teams promoted from L1 have a good record in their first Championship season. It isn't as though the teams above us are all that much better than us either, we're only 11 points off the top despite our terrible...

    Statement from fisher

Nothing particularly random in that statement. Pretty predictable and innocuous if you ask me. Nothing remotely contentious or controversial.

A draw today will suit us nicely.

Pitch gets worse every time I see it. Weather this winter has a lot to do with it obviously, but I wonder if the fact it wasn't replaced last summer because of the Olympics has had an effect? Not an excuse obviously, but it clearly can't help a team that likes to play football.

A draw today will suit us nicely.

I genuinely think today will be the day we roll over someone and win comfortably. I might regret saying that later, but I think it is long overdue. If we do that, it'll be interesting to see how it affects the mood re. administration, but I suspect it would take a win at Pompey for some people...

    Groundsharing-a historical precedent

...and by 1968/69 the average was up to nearly 35,000.

A real positive to come out of this season

How do you find the Russians Otis? Has some bad experiences with them myself, and they have a reputation for being miserable and surly I think its fair to say. Misunderstood or a bunch of vodka swilling gangsters?

    The Perfect Scenario...

Where is all this land they speak about anyway? There isn't that much. Some of it is earmarked for a train station. Some of it that fronts the A444 near to Tesco is to be built on soon with two new restaurants, the land at RG Social Club has already been purchased by a developer, and land...

    Groundsharing-a historical precedent

It is the great tragedy of the past 15 years just how disengaged the club has become from the local community. The apathy has never been so great, and yet we have some fantastic supporters. Some of our away followings this season have been awesome (and not just in numbers) and these people...

If Sisu back down and things carry on as the are....

City centres are by far the best places to build new stadiums. The fact that not many are built centrally is down to some of the reasons you give, but it isn't unprecedented. The Millenium Stadium in Cardiff is in the town centre as is St James Park Newcastle, in fact there are quite a few...

    Groundsharing-a historical precedent

FP makes a good point. There are also 130,000 more people living in the Brighton conurbation than the Coventry urban area, so add to that the lack of other teams in the area, the new stadium factor, and improved fortunes on the pitch it is no surprise they are having a purple patch. Good luck...

    Groundsharing-a historical precedent

What is 'out of the city' though? I heard a rumour recently about Ansty Business Park as a possible site. Don't get me wrong, I'm no fan of edge of town stadiums and believe they should be close to built up areas, but if you look at this particular location, it's on the very edge of the...

    Groundsharing-a historical precedent

They might not have a choice. They can reject planning applications all they like, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be overturned at public enquiry. They have to have a very good case for denying permission, and in many locations I am sure they would have and local residents would object...

Mark Labovitch calls for arbitration in Ricoh row

It is clear Fisher is way out of his depth, and while I side with the club/SISU in many respects, they did start throwing their weight around and ACL have run rings around them since. The inevitable consequence of that is that some have allowed themselves to get caught up in their whirlwind of...

Mark Labovitch calls for arbitration in Ricoh row

They really don't do themselves any favours do they. I really do not trust ACL at all, but they have played their hand so much better and have been much more astute in their media dealings.

Hopefully an end to this endless debate once and for all

A bit OT, but there is nothing 'new and modern' about the council's obsession with pedestrianisation. All it has served to do is create a series of poorly linked retail plazas framed by appalling buildings that are bleak and windswept with no foot traffic after 5pm. These are the people we are...

    Club Statement

Which would infuriate many of the anti-SISU types on here who have said they do not want that to happen. I'm confused. If you are anit-SISU, do you want them to pay up and retain control, or not pay and likely ruin our chances next season?

SISU / ACL arguments - for god's sake!

This. Until that happens we'll just keep going around in circles.

    response

I honestly don't know the exact terms of the agreement, someone like Jan might. But, I do know from the corporate arrangement we have, the £13,000 we spend each season for the box goes to the club. The £5000-£6000 spent on F&B goes to ACL/Compass (not sure of the terms of that agreement). Not...

    response

Indeed they didn't, but what they did do is make it clear what they were willing to pay - 400K in rent in return to profits from parking and F&B which we are told amounts to around 250K. Nobody from ACL has ever disputed this that I am aware of (I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong)...
