    A.l.f

I thought this thread was about ALF, the brown American TV alien from the 80's. Imagine my disappointment, I thought we'd finally found a new signing who we could afford...

    another miscommunication

So how do you explain my season ticket? I certainly am a City fan, and have zero appreciation for SISU whatsoever. As someone who is generally very left-leaning politically and hates the way money has ruined football, to be the first club to be owned by a private equity company is particularly...

    God Help Us!

I think we need to somehow animate the Jimmy Hill statue. He'll be a bit like one of those Japanese B-movie monsters, only more bronze, and he will play up front. We will worship him and he will smite our foes. Alternatively, we could try signing 3-4 quality players pronto. :thinking about:

    How did Bigirimana/Christie play today?

Nevermind that, I'd say giving him a contract as a player until Xmas now would be the smartest possible thing we could do. He has the steel and experience our midfield is absolutely crying out for. Whatever you think of him, he was an essential part of our side lsat season when we were troubling...

Norwich - should be good game

Any ideas on the score/team, anyone? Edit: official site. http://www.ccfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10269~2405829,00.html 2-0 down at the moment. Bell not in the squad and Eastwood has gone off injured. Gael started. Some good passing football 1st half but no goals and sloppy errors at the...

    another miscommunication

No, because SISU are about as transparant as a bin-liner! But they obviously exist. That's what these hedge funds are all about-big money people making more dosh, but keeping their identity secret (oh the irony that this is used to criticise Hoffmans backers!.) Only they don't know football...

    another miscommunication

Jesus mate, just who do you think SISU are? A couple of homeless tramps who hang about drinking beer in the park?? No, they're a bunch of miilionaires. With what? With their oodles of cash, thats with what! Spend, get promoted, reap reward. They supposedly bought the club with the idea of...

    Deal edges closer

The stuff about the takeover almost sounds too good to be true...I'd love it to be, but I dunno if it will be simple. The deal as outlined has already been rejected. ..as for Oggy: this would be the first time in a long and almost unsurpassed career of incredible loyalty that anyone linked to...

    another miscommunication

I can see the responses you'll get to some of the things you say, but I do in general agree. I suppose they won't do it because of the nature of SISU: if the investors say no to spending, that's it. They must have a strategy of some kind, but I'm buggered if I know what it can possibly be..if...

    Koumas !!!!!

Kewell and Koumas, Sitting in a tree, Signing for Coventry City? Absolutely zero chance whatsoever! Not sure I'd want either anyway, but the point is we aren't close to being able to afford them. The only "Special K" we'll see this season is Killian Brennan. And he wasn't very special at all..

    Ask Leonard Thread

Leonard Cohen probably knows a darn sight more about "soccer". I'm not that sure his re-working of The SBS would work too well, athough something more downbeat with lyrics about Rochdale and Hartlepool replacing "Tottenham or Chelsea" would probably be fittingly dark in tone for our future...

    Inspired Decision

He kinda claimed the credit for the present board though...and don't worry, I've got plenty of other reasons for disliking him.

    Inspired Decision

I also loved how he re-wrote losing Westwood for nothing as a way of "adding value" to the club!!! Incredible stuff.

    Inspired Decision

Nah, they weren't lucky. Ranson knows him better than anyone in football. He hired him! It's his inspired decision. That the men who forced him out had the temerity to try to claim credit for it I really couldn't believe! What I would do with just 10 minutes to question that fool Dulieu...

    Aaron phillips?

Gets up and down the touchline well, good engine. Reasonable pace. Goes in fairly hard. Has some flair but final ball, particularly crossing, needs some work. Far too early to know how good he can be. Wales need some decent players though!

    Are the club lying?.....Again?

Why, what gave you that impression? Apart from my SISU OUT banner at the Nuneaton game maybe :D

    another miscommunication

I generally agree, but according to tanned Ken today; "there are 23 clubs in this division" with a better budget than ours, and that is because we don't own the ground. Yes, and that's why we thought the original plan was to buy it within a year of securing ownership...

    Are the club lying?.....Again?

All the same, the board are entirely SISU placemen. They are puppets and supposed PR experts (ie lies and bullshit). To all intents and purposes they are the same. I haven't heard a word of sense from Dulieu yet, and I think 99.9% of what he says is entirely fictional, including his crappy...

    another miscommunication

The fact that nobody is sure exactly what it means is proof that it is miscommunication! Probably deliberately. Which bank is this? Since when? If he does mean SISU, it's really not funny.
