Gary Deegan and an injection of pace

Well, basically the player who I was spouting crazy hyperbole about after the Leamington game showed everyone exactly what I was banging on about tonight :D:D:D Within 5 minutes of his introduction he had already made 4 superb passes-the way he lobs and dinks it off the side of his foot is...

...and I should have read that before I went off on one. Well put, sir!

    Massive game tonight

Sorry valiant it was the reply to your post I shoulda quoted, but I'm sure everyone knows that.

    Massive game tonight

Try extending that run backwards to include Boothroyds last 15 games. Thorny looks like a genius in that context! More to the point, try asking how many games we've won since SISU failed to act in the January 2011 window-releasing Doyle and loaning Thomas just as we had 1 fit CM. That was when...

    intresting article

Dunno if anyone remembers but a few weeks back I implored "A decent investigative journalist like David Conn" to have a sniff around SISU. Maybe he read my plea?! That said, this is really down to an MP. Good on him. And I don't say that often about MP's! On the way back Saturday my mate...

    Penalty taker

Yeah, Sammy isn't exactly a prolific goalscorer. I've never understood anyone other than forwards taking them-surely you want your best player at scoring goals to take them, and that should be a striker. Otherwise, if they can't score from that distance, maybe they should play in another position?

Problem being, no-one sees them then.

If Larry David can crack jokes about Hitlers taste in music..and I trust you have heard of Mel Brooks?

    Westwood starts for Sunderland

Here here. I think every passing week takes Westwood closer to the Sunderland first team, and once in he won't look back. Different class to either Mignolet or Gordon (who are a bit pish). Not only that, I watch half the 'keepers in the Prem and think he could do a better job. But I am a bit...

Mmm, I particularly like the last sentence. Bit of a beat-poetry feel. I might try ranting it to some moody background music, John Cooper Clark stylee :D

Although probably only put to get a reaction, he's not saying they are as bad as the Nazis. You know that. He's just being confrontational, really. Where the analogy maybe bears some fruit is the fact that, yes, we all obey orders and do things we don't want to 'cos it's our job. However...

    worth a punt?

I'm pretty sure that was the problem, as he was incredibly prolific at youth level. Even Abbott lost patience with him at one stage, and he'd been his youth coach who'd brought him up through the ranks.

    Attendance Vs blackpool

I loved that joke. Jasper told it really well live, with the gentle lead up to the deafening "OIYYYY!" Remember the really bad Detectives special that was something to do with missing Birmingham in the Cup Final because they'd been tied up?

    Norwich....

Incredible over-achievement when you look at the players in the squad and what they cost. I mean don't get me wrong, they look like billionaires compared to us, but Crofts and Morrison were in the BSP a few years ago, Holt, Jackson, Martin (the ex Wycombe one), Tierney-all in L2 2 years ago...

Alexander got one on Saturday didn't he. Yeah you're right, he's only missed one or two in his career also.

    Le Fondre against City

Yep, he did. First serious error he's made in a home game, mind. But he did look more like a RB than a CB on Saturday.

McAllister was great at them unless Uri Geller made the spot move.. I guess Le Tiss goes back into pre-Prem days. He was certainly playing well before Shearer, and I'm sure he has the best conversion rate. I think he only missed one ever.

    Attendance Vs blackpool

11,075 I reckon. I had a spare ticket and for the 2nd time in a row, the first 4 people I offered it to said no, generally because they find the prospect too depressing!

Le Tissier? Has the best record, I expect. Molby was pretty lethal, too. Damn that hatrick in the League Cup...
