USA-Mexico-Canada 2026 wins the vote by a fair distance.

This is going to be one of those siege mentality things that win the tournament now.

Agreed, that's why I'm not looking forward to the 48-team tournament they're planning for 2026. 16 and 32-team formats work so to be honest if they really must expaned further I'd skip straight to 64 so it's still bloated, but at least the group stage has a 50% survival rate and retains a bit of...

The Spanish FA were going to ditch Lopetegui immediately for taking the Real Madrid job, but the players have stepped in to keep the manager in place for the tournament by the sounds of it. I love a good meltdown

Portugal two years ago are the inspiration I'm looking towards, didn't win a single group game and their only 90 min win in the entire tournament was in the semi. Proper grind.

The qualifying stage looked a bit tasty, group stage with Scotland, Wales and N.I and then a playoff against Spain.

We've only got past the quarters of any tournament outside of England once in our history at Italia 90. We finished third at Euro '68 too, but that was made up of four teams to begin with so probably shouldn't count as a great success.

This guy must have some real potential if all of this is correct.

Apparently 'neither' is actually one of the options, if enough people select it they then ditch the continental rotation and allow bids from Europe and Asia. I'd be surprised if the big North American bid doesn't win it though

Saudi Arabia's 17/2 to beat Russia on the opening day, might have a little bit on that. They reckon it's the worst Russian side ever which is lovely timing for them and no host has lost the opener yet, so it'll either be a quick exit or a mad run to the latter stages carried on home support.

Getting 0 in six games at the last Euros put me off Muller this time, they're saying he's gone off the boil a bit. That will pretty much confirm him as golden boot now though probably.

I've got France to win and a few quid on Cavani, Milik and Lukaku E/W for top scorers

No, nobody is. It's a load of shit made up by the kind of people who spread stuff about not being allowed to call yourself English or whatever else they come out with.

Yep. This kind of thing always comes up around tournaments in order to rile people up.

    Collymore v Wright

Wright left the BBC before due to unhappiness over being portrayed as the jester Collymore mentions so there is some merit in what he says. Noticed it less with Wright since his return though, I think now punditry's a bit pally so everyone's like that instead of the dour seriousness of Hansen.

    A very British Cover Up

I thought the show was great, but a little odd how jaunty they portrayed what's actually a horrendous story.

    Soccer aid

Yeah, think it was last time Clarence Seedorf put on a clinic. Good to see the older players show the magic. Wilkes and Robbie Williams not playing, so all my hopes are on someone putting Paddy McGuinness or Olly Murs right on their arses.

    Boycott cov telegraph

Someone rightfully defending themselves only to be met with some dickhead saying 'ooh, touched a nerve' is the kind of thing you see on forums and social media but not really what you expect from actual journalists.

    Coventry city centre

I rarely go into town and don't even have cause to use the ring road these days so when I do it's remarkable how quickly the landscape changes. That building going up opposite Cov baths for example, it was just that car park last I knew and now there's a behemoth going up.

    R.A.O.B club to close

Whatever is built there ought to have some kind of commemorative plaque for me for my pool record of winning every league game I played for them.
