Who is your Coventry City Player of the Season 2014/15?

It's a fair enough point-of-view that - but I wonder if a different manager might have had a similar effect with him still here... Regardless, player-of-the-season, Danny Swanson all day long. Why are we even bothering to discuss this. :)

A bit more to him than just being good on facebook, perhaps. ;)

Wasps in talks to takeover Ricoh

No, no - there's the alternative scenario where we're back at the Ricoh and the council and SISU sit back for a couple of years and y'know, rebuild trust. Like that nice man from the council proposed when we moved back from Northampton. In this scenario, after a year or two it's obvious that...

    TM on his way ??

Indeed. Although if Mowbray said publicly let's take our time and build a bit of trust before talking about contracts, and then it turned out he'd done another deal behind our backs at exactly the same time as saying it - then presumably he'd be slated here, no?

    TM on his way ??

Absolutely Otis, that's fair enough. I'd just like it if we started to hear the right noises from the club for once - y'know stuff like Fisher or Waggott saying that they're really happy with what TM is doing, and are hoping to persuade him to stay, etc. Show the bloke some love. I take your...

Club aims to raise £35m from bond

Although currently we might be in for a bit of deflation. As city fans we're used to being deflated... ;) Regardless, even without the politics I think the money would be safer under the mattress than in Wasps bonds.

    TM on his way ??

If you think he's the right man for the job, why wouldn't you negotiate now with contingencies for whether we stay up or go down? We've had this kind of rubbish before from SW, with players like Murphy who might have stayed had the club been a bit quicker to talk to him. It is, as with most...

    ***Relegation Thread***

If we end up on the same points, goal difference, and goals scored, then it comes down to our records against each other. That's one draw and one defeat against County, and we'd go down. And to answer your second question - yes. :)

Club aims to raise £35m from bond

Again, commercial leases are nothing like buying a flat. There are all sorts of clauses around what happens in the case of insolvency, and the right to transfer (sell, if you prefer) to third-parties. If ACL goes tits up, the lease reverts to CCC - if you go broke you can sell your flat. Big...

    ***Relegation Thread***

What I saw at the Ricoh was a team that was disorganised at the back, and didn't seem to have a clue how to score going forward. The goalie in particular was all over the place when put under pressure. And I'm talking about Crewe here, btw, and we lost 1-3 to them! Mowbray's got some serious...

Club aims to raise £35m from bond

They plod on, I guess. Just with some serious questions about how good their business model really is. It raises the sort of questions the council should've asked before getting into bed with them, perhaps.

Club aims to raise £35m from bond

6.5% with no security against a company who have very nearly gone to the wall once, and are currently reliant on the whim of an individual owner to survive, isn't high enough for me. I note the original page is down at the moment - http://www.wasps.co.uk/the-club/bonds - insert own conspiracy...

Club aims to raise £35m from bond

In fairness, I can see that you've accepted that you don't think it's a great investment. However Wasps are committed to paying 6.5% interest a year on the bonds - £2.3m every year if the whole offering is taken, just to service the debt. Given they haven't turned a profit yet and have relied...

Club aims to raise £35m from bond

These are commercial leases, not residential ones. Different rules apply - you can't sell a commercial lease to another third party in the way that you sell a flat. Typically, if the company holding the lease becomes insolvent, the lease reverts to the freeholder. In other words, if you're a...

Club aims to raise £35m from bond

If ACL go bust, I would imagine the leasehold reverts to the Council whether or not the loan is paid. That's the standard process with commercial leases. As you've said, the bond is a poor deal. If it doesn't come off you have to wonder how much of a risk Wasps are to the Council's £14.4m.

Club aims to raise £35m from bond

C'mon Noggin - there is absolutely no comparison here. The UK is a sovereign state capable of printing its own money, and borrowing further funds at very low rates. There's little to no risk in government backed Gilts, which is why pretty much every western economy runs this way. The...

Club aims to raise £35m from bond

£35m at £2,000 each would require 17,500 investors. That's a bit of a stretch, I'd say. I know there are a fair number of people who are happy to go and watch Wasps for free, or even for £15 a ticket - but asking people to put their hands in their pockets for £2,000 might be going a bit far...
