    European breakaway league

To be fair players will have no choice, while they have existing contracts with these clubs. Maybe I'm blinkered to the realities of the modern world, but I find it hard to believe there will be widespread interest in this tournament, and without qualification through sporting merit I can see...

    Match Thread Barnsley (H)

Strange thing is though that unlike us I don't see Brentford, Swansea or Bournemouth changing their style as we did to counteract Barnsley''s strengths. I therefore think that if they make it they will still ruffle some feathers in a play off scenario.

    European breakaway league

The rest of football should hold firm. If these 'super' clubs want to join this money fest it should be made clear that in doing so they have to resign from the English league structure, knowing that if it goes tits up there is no quick way back for them.

    Referee Analysis Barnsley

Would have to re-visit our goal to see if we did steal the 20 Ignore this - misread the post by skyblueeyes revisited

    Cov ladies on BBC Online

I maybe wrong Otis, so please someone correct me if I am, but as I posted on a different thread they are still under the same umbrella as Cov United, which wasn't set up for the benefit of CCFC. l can't find it in myself to give a damn about them.

    Today’s games

They are representing Coventry United not Coventry. I'm pretty sure that the club's founders were set up to wilfully work against the interests of CCFC, and probably still do. Am sure Grendel's 'friend' that used to get himself seconded onto the SBT committee, Kalns was it? was one of the main...

    Burge

You are free to write what you want and go on the Sunderland forum as much as you want, just as I'm free to comment that I find those that do a bit sad.

] Ridiculous though it sounds I get the feeling if Walker smiled a bit more some of our fans would ease up on him. We need pace up front to get behind Barnsley's high defensive line so for that reason I would prefer a front 2 of Walker and Gyokeres, over Godden & Biamou.

    Robins linked with Bristol City.

If I was a Bristol City fan I would be spitting feathers, their players are just going through the motions. They have some quality in their squad, but like we saw when they played us a couple of weeks ago those players don't want to put the effort in. Whoever is in charge of them next season has...

    Burge

Burge left 2 seasons ago, and the vast majority of us were pleased he moved on. This continuing obsession with him just seems weird.

Be interesting to see how MR sets up for this. Going from @Barnsley & other stuff I've read it seems like they prey on teams who try to play from the back. I can't remember who they were playing, but I remember reading a report on a Barnsley game they expected to win, but drew, and were...

    Robins linked with Bristol City.

Maybe its an age thing on my part, but I view what you might say off the cuff in a pub or at a match as being very different to putting thoughts in writing, and which are there to be seen for eternity. Having said that I have no issue with the knee jerk match threads, which are always funny to...

    Free agents for next season

Villa would only have been entitled to a fee if he was offered an 'improved' contract.

    Leo love in

He's such a whole hearted player, that it'll be a real shame if he never gets to play in front of our fans.

    Forgotten Trialists and Signings

Ashley Cain was fast - he just couldn't control a football!

    Robins linked with Bristol City.

While I imagine most the players won't even know about SBT, it would be naive to think that applies to every single one of them. Natural curiosity applies & I can well imagine Shipley for instance will have read some of the stuff on here, just the same as I recall seeing the likes of Stuart...

    Match Thread Rotherham

It is undoubtedly a big game, and it feels vital, but in reality nothing will be decided tomorrow whatever the result, and despite the inevitable post match over reactions we will get on here, win, lose or draw.

    Rotherham Fan in Peace

The OP has posted over 4,000 times on here. He is not a Rotherham fan, whether he is 'in peace' or otherwise. Got a fair few bites though

We've got to be positive & try to make the game high tempo so that we take advantage of their lack of rest. It will be in their interests to try & make it a stop start game littered with free kicks. They are a big team, so set pieces could be problematic. We must play 2 up front though, if we...
