Never mind pay as you play how about pay as you score? £500 notes for every goal he bangs in.

    new ground ??

This ^ Sticking with it this season in the hope that we return to the Ricoh but if we start a second season in Northampton then its game over as far as I am concerned. The longer they stay away the less they can claim to be Coventry City. I might come back to it if we get new owners and they...

    AFC Coventry

I think CU took over the license from Coventry Spires. I don't mind them playing in red but the name United was a mistake and I agree they went too soon. If City relocate permanently outside the City then thats its for me and I would welcome a new Coventry based team. I like 1883 as a name too.

    Chris Dagnall

I loved watching him play for Rochdale (my pet team) always gave his all in every match and not a bad finisher either.

    Chris Dagnall on loan?

Daggers! Rochdale are my pet team in my northern exile so seen him play a lot, awesome player at league 2 level and unless he has gone majorly off the boil at Barnsley then he should score a few in league one as well. Good signing if true.

Most of Birmingham was in Warwickshire up until the local government act of 1974.

IF there is a new ground built........

Just as a point of clarity, I was born in Cov and lived there till I was 6. Still have family in the city. So whilst I cannot properly claim to be Cov Bred and I am certainly Cov Born and feel a strong attachment to the city.

IF there is a new ground built........

That would be nice but i think we may have to wait a good while longer to get it

IF there is a new ground built........

Agree with one caveat, SISU should publicly make a sensible offer for it.
  10. Manchester_sky_blue

IF there is a new ground built........

But they won't and a ground outside of the city is totally unacceptable therefore the only logical course is to return to the Ricoh which is exactly what will happen.

    The Ricoh

Fair enough, I did say i had no knowledge/interest in them. My point still stands though, the rights or wrongs of their move/situation are irrelevant. The only situation that counts is our own and the rights and wrongs of our decision.

IF there is a new ground built........

Why? Because you can't think of a proper defence of your position?

IF there is a new ground built........

Where do you suggest this magical "just a few yards over the border" site is? What realistic sites are there? Cos no Council will agree to permission on a greenfield site for a new stadium.

IF there is a new ground built........

Haven't i answered this once already? 20 yards or 20 miles makes no difference, its either in Coventry or its not. BUT as we both know that situation would never arise because if a stadium were to be built outside of the city boundary it would not be 20 yards, it would be in a neighbouring...

    The Ricoh

I fail to see why we are even talking about the Blaze. It's irrelevant to our situation. What other clubs/teams/sports do should not influence what we do. As an aside, i see that the Blaze are now in financial trouble again (according to Wiki anyway, i dont claim to know anything about them...

IF there is a new ground built........

Because as I have repeatedly stated, it would not be the club we have grown up with. That club would be gone and a facsimile would be there in its place

IF there is a new ground built........

Case in point, Wimbledon ceased to be Wimbledon when they upped sticks to MK.
  18. Manchester_sky_blue

IF there is a new ground built........

Not at all, thats the whole point of having a boundary! doesnt matter if its 20 yards or 20 miles, same difference
  19. Manchester_sky_blue

IF there is a new ground built........

Thats a moot point because if is built outside the city then it wont be 20 yards over a boundary will it. it would be in a neigbouring town such as Hinckley, Nuneaton, Rugby etc etc. But assuming for a second that it was just over the boundary, even a step over the boundary, that would be it...

IF there is a new ground built........

For some fans perhaps but not all. Despite living over a 100 miles away i went to a large number of home games every season both at the Ricoh and HR.
