Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

They can't win though... People were going mental on here at the very prospect of O'Hare or Gyokores leaving. Then when we had the difficulties at the start of the season with the pitch/stadium, it was all their fault for not offloading a player for £6-10m

    George and John statue committee

I'd personally think it would be better off in the City Centre than at the Ricoh. Who knows how long the Ricoh may (or may not) be a part of CCFC.

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

Well, this is the issue. If someone like Mike Ashley wants the Ricoh, yet still doesn't want the club, then its highly unlikely that we are an appealing asset to anyone.

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

This.... Whatever the outcome of the coming days/weeks, the indignation of being stuck with Wasps looks to be over, so its a massive positive for me.

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

No they are still based in Cov. Although like nearly all local papers they are part of a much larger "group", which (imo) contributes heavily to all their issues as a media outlet.

    Qatar World Cup 2022

I still remember the day this was announced (along with Russia hosting the previous one). Absolute joke. No interest whatsoever.

Edit on my above post: i don't think the Cov Half Marathon is on this weekend. I think the date i saw has been cancelled or updated.

    Running

Busy weekend coming up in the area. Saturday is the British Masters Cross-Country Relays at Long Eaton, which usually has a decent showing from the local clubs. Sunday i think is the Cov Half Marathon. Sunday afternoon also has the Warwick University Cross Country Relays, which is a more...

How are you feeling about survival

Our current team without Gyokores is clearly low on goalscoring and creating capability. If the re-introduction of O'Hare and Hamer leads to us creating more for the likes of Godden/Waghorn, then we could possibly stand to lose Gyokores and continue to climb the table. Big "if" though....

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

The speculation ends and the interesting stuff starts now........ Is there a buyer waiting in the wings for Wasps and/or ground and/or CCFC.

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

Thank you. I was just seeing if there was any angle from the council point of view that they helped bail out CCFC/the construction of the ground. Seems not.

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

When the council "stepped in" with assistance in the construction of the Ricoh Arena.... are they still owed money from that? I assume that is the "debt" which is saddled over the arena.... is that still owed to council, or is it somewhere else (bondholders?)

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

I remember before the Ricoh area was proposed, the original plans/speculation/hype was for a huge new national stadium at J2/M69 junction, to be shared with Leicester City... 90,000 capacity was thrown around in the media :D

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

this "Rugby Family" is so hypocritical it defies belief... Wasps were quick enough to help pull up the drawbridge on the rest of the rugby pyramid and close the Premiership off.

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

They discussed this on TalkSport this evening.... Darren Bent was saying that he lives near the Ricoh and it was a "massive loss" to Coventry and the community. They did have a rugby expert on who vaguely pointed out some animosity from the football club. But it was about as in-depth a...

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

Been waiting for this day for 8 years so very pleased. If Wasps are already forfeiting games then i don't see how they can reasonably expect not to get relegated. Hopefully it signals the end of Wasps Rugby in Coventry, but i guess that is dependent on what format the "administration" takes...

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

Personally i have no desire to co-exist with Wasps under any kind of joint-ownership. Prefer the current situation imo. Would rather Wasps gone as a number one priority.

    Running

Yesterday was the National Road Relays in Sutton Coldfield. Eagle-eyed viewers of the Commonwealth Games may recognise the venue, as it hosted the run section of the Triathlon earlier this year, but more well-known in running circles as the long-time host venue for the National Relays. Unlike...

Go on then. Where do we finish?

I tend to agree with this, anywhere from 16-19th. Highly doubt we'll go down.
