    O'Hare bids

Don't agree that most of what he did was poor. We suddenly had a link between midfield and attack when he came on. He played several clever passes and flicks that got us forward. Jamie Allen wasn't offering that, but that's not his position. If Palmer can be given license to try these things...

Dabo and Adaramola to start as wing backs. We will need a more attacking edge, being at home. Not sure Palmer is ready yet, but would be tempted to start him instead of Allen.

    SISU ready to sell?

Directly North of London, and before you hit Birmingham / Leicester. How many clubs of our size/potential are there? Watford, Luton? Both smaller. Northampton? Forget it. CCFC could be a very attractive purchase.

    Fabio Tavares

Safe to assume that Fabio is clearly in Robin's plans this season, being brought on early yesterday at Sunderland. Good to see, he clearly has something about him. He's raw, no doubt but certainly a player that will make things happen, with his direct style and pace. I presume had Waghorn been...

Panzo definitely an upgrade on JCS on that evidence. He's quicker, stronger and just looks more up for it. Only downside is that he won't be here next season unless Forest go down and we go up, then we might have a chance to buy him

    Sunderland Ratings

Few thoughts. Bidwell - He’s just not attack-minded enough for our system, where we need our WB’s to be bombing forward. He got badly done for the goal, but after that he was solid. Adaramola will be first choice LWB once bedded in Moore - Rally poor error. If it was really that close...

    O'Hare bids

Palmer is not ready (fitness-wise), so if Callum is out, we’ve got a bit of a problem. Waghorn & Allen supporting Viktor., if Robins plays the box?

    Anyone else got PMT

Was really enjoying the last week in the build up to this game. Can’t remember the last time we had a ‘Big’ game as the opener. Now 12 hours or so from kick off much more tense. The rumour of O’Hare’s injury (hopefully bullsh*t) not helping.

    Transfer Shouts

Waghorn - Bags of experience, and looked decent before his injuries and Covid issues last season. Can slot in behind the main striker. Walker is just not good enough. Forest obviously felt the same, letting him go 2 years ago. The lad can finish no doubt but not enough else in his game.

Go on then. Where do we finish?

Hard to call the league this season, but you would expect to see Norwich, Middlesbrough, Burnley and Watford up there. I can see there being one team that takes everyone by surprise this time though, and will get promotion against the odds. That shall be CCFC.

Why Didn't We Sign Chris Marsden in 1994?

Along with the selling of Robert Rosario in 92/93, not buying Chris Marsden was one of the worst transfer decisions this club has made. We looked a different team when he played, beating Spur 2-1 just after Xmas, and then he ran the show against Swindon a few days later.

They will come out of the blocks fast on Sunday, with the crowd behind them. We'll need to be patient, and let our passing game warm up, and then pick them off. Can see them getting an early goal perhaps, but then we go to town 1-3

    Team for Sunderland

Still not convinced that Godden & Vik can play together effectively (certainly away from home) Think the box with Allen & O'Hare behind Vik would be the safer option. Ideally this would be Palmer instead of Allen but he's probably not ready yet. Predictable? Predictably good. We also have a...

If we keep the big 3 (4 including Sheaf)

Champions - Squad has the quality, and we have the team spirit, which the relegated teams won't have (Burnley, Norwich). Stranger things have happened. Let's not forget we played most teams off the park last season, and have added quality in the positions where we needed to (CB and AM)

    O'Hare bids

Would like to think we’ve told Burnley to do one after their conduct, and O’Hare not that keen on the move. If we could move on 2 from Kane, Walker & Waghorn, maybe we could keep the big 3 until January at least, and get a LWB in

    O'Hare bids

Maatsen did OK, but often flattered to deceive. Don't remember many assists from him. He was full of energy though and got better defensively as the season wore on. Certainly replaceable

    Back in the day

Darby looked good when he played with Chris Marsden for a short while in Dec / Jan 93-94. Technically decent, and could finish but he was lightweight, and shirked challenges and was often anonymous. Those dark days of David Rennie, Julian Darby, Sean Flynn

    O'Hare bids

Let’s say he eventually goes for 8 million. Even if Robins only sees 25% of that, it would free him up to bring in a replacement (Sibley or a top Premier League youngster, Man City & Chelsea seem to like us). I think we have 3-5 players lined up, when we have the budget. As of yet Waghorn...

    O'Hare bids

This is exactly what I didn't want. From reading all these posts, I was resigned he was off on Saturday, and the deal would of been done by now. I don't want him to go, but it would give Robins time to bring in a replacement before the 31st. It seems to be dragging out, and we don't want him...

    Match Thread Walsall Away (Hot)

Is a new LWB only coming in if there is movement out (Kane, O'Hare etc)? Bidwell has been looking decent from all accounts, but it would be typical if he got injured and we had to play Dabo or Kane there.
