    January transfer window

Pask and Drysdale don't seem to be part of MR's plans, I wonder if Robins is thinking George Burroughs and the new lad Abel Alabi may be adequate cover for the CB position. If we lost JCS and McFadz to injury (or suspension), one of those would need to be called upon. I don't want to see Dabo...

    January transfer window

McCallum was good in the air, and defensively sound, but Maatsen is faster, has more trickery, and offers far more attacking threat. Some of McCallum passing last season was shocking. + We're 4th in the league, with 3 of the same back 5 that played regularly last season. I would suggest Maatsen...

    SKY and Sheffield United Away

I remember what an absolute dull fest that game was, but we should never of lost it. As you say they should of had 10 men, and our goal was clearly over the line. Charles-Cook then flapped at a corner and it hit Billy Sharp.

First chunk in Robins impenetrable armour?

I actually think we miss Waghorn for his link play. He was being used more as a No 10, but with Godden back in, we have 2 out & out Centre Forwards. We do have some deeper squad issues though, with no left footed centre half to compete with JCS, and no left wing back to compete with Maatsen...

    Swansea (H) - Tuesday 2nd - 19:45

I actually thought we looked quite dangerous going forward 1st half, even more so than most of the Derby game. However Swansea seemed to cut through us every time they went forward, and of course we conceded 2 soft goals. Robins seems to think we were much better 2nd half. Maybe defensively...

Robins really doesn’t like using substitutes.

    Match Thread Hull City (A) - Sat 30th Oct - 3pm KO

He’s so much more offensive than McCallum, which helps us going forward. Sam did produce some great performances at the end of last season when we decided to play a more direct style, and he’s a great athlete, but I remember tearing my hair out at some of his passing for the 1st half of the...

    Match Thread Hull City (A) - Sat 30th Oct - 3pm KO

We looked tired and off our game against Derby. Hopefully no midweek game will benefit us. Hyam and Dabo need to improve, and quickly. Hopefully Viktor will be fully fit. 1-2 to Cov

Axis of Evil. Two left footed central midfielders. One only passes sideways and was often anonymous, the other small, technically not good enough but worked hard and could tackle. Horrible times.

Farke out………Robins in, What are the chances.

Robins jumped before, and got burned and had to start again in League 2. If he went this season, and they went down the pressure would be huge on him next season, and there won't be much patience. If he was then sacked, he's not going to be pick up a championship job very easily, and will need...

    Walker

Godden’ start was correct, won and scored the penalty, unlucky not to have a 2nd. Robins knew the team was tired from the 2 away trips, and Walker started both. Today was a perfect game for Allen’s energy, and Kane should of got the nod over Dabo for me.

    Match Thread Derby County (H)

Derby we’re poor in the 1st half, and we had control, but the passing was off, Gyk not at his best, and we didn’t create an awful lot. Derby bossed it 2nd half but only created one real chance which hit the post, before we nearly made it 2-0. Hyam’s error then led to their equaliser. We looked...

    Player ratings vs derby (h)

Dabo - I’m a big fan, but he looked a yard slower today and his cross delivery especially in the 1st half was poor.

Jones is a back up for O’Hare, and that’s his best hope. He’s not a wing back, and with 4 fit centre forwards he won’t get in up front ahead of Waghorn and Walker. It is frustrating, as I’m keen to see if he’s got the goods for this league. I still have a sneaky feeling he could be our secret...

    Reality check

O’Hare is a warrior, rarely needs treatment or stays down. Gets up, has a word with the ref, and carries on. Joy to watch. He got no protection from referees last season, and he won’t get any this season.

I thought Kelly had an excellent first half, so don't understand the the low ratings here. He was no worse than anyone else 2nd half.

Match Thread PNE (A) Weds 20th Oct, 7.45

Gyk didn’t look 100% to me, and Robins should of flooded the midfield after the equaliser. He didn’t act and we conceded the 2nd. Allen and Waghorn were never going to rescue the game for us, and his triple change may be wise for Saturday but also felt like accepting defeat. We really need a...

    Viktor - Fitness

Gyo hasn't started up front on his own this season has he? When he did the lone striker role last season he wasn't very good, Preston at home as I remember. I don't think any of our strikers can effectively play that role, and I would only be happy playing that formation if we had 2 attack...
