Transfer Rumour Raphael Borges Rodriguez signs for Coventry

Still think he might be our secret weapon in the 2nd half of the season.

    Sheaf

Sheaf is always like that. We're on a bad run, he's not going to sit there with a beaming smile

Last season, we lost at Rotherham and Preston away in October. Two poor performances (equal to the Leeds & Swansea games recently). We didn't click into gear until the Stoke home game on November 11th, which was 0-0. Then the run started. 1 defeat in 13 up to early February.

    Wilson injured!!!!

Collins was making a load of errors by the end of the season. He should have claimed the cross for the first Man U goal at Wembley too. Also, although not technically his fault, he was getting beaten by deflected shots that were still close to him a lot too. Despite this, I still felt more...

    Wilson injured!!!!

Wilson is 32, and has played 145 first team games in 13 years. Dovin is 22 and has played 86 first team games in 5 years.

    Hot and cold

He should play a free role behind Simms or Bassette. He shouldn’t have defensive duties.

With Bidwell out, surely we need to switch to a back 3, allowing Dasilva to play LWB his natural position. We can also bring back Lati or Binks as the 3rd CB. It allows us to play 2 central strikers, or a SS / CF. I can see Sakamoto and Thomas-Asante being useful in that central role behind...

    Liam Kitching

I am sure he earns enough money to rent a flat near Cov during the week, but keeps his main property in Yorkshire. Barnsley to Cov is 2 hours each way, he surely wouldn't commute every day

    Liam Kitching

Kitching is our best CB IMO. He's had a rocky start to the season, but has been in and out of the team.

    Ben Wilson - well done!

Spurs (should of done better for the winner) Leeds (Arguably could of done better for the 2nd/3rd goals) Sheff Weds (1st goal was poor, yeah he hit it hard, but Wilson's postioning was all wrong. I think if a goalkeeper saves all 4 of those goals above, we'd say "Good save" but nothing more...

    The next 4 games

Should be beating all 4 of those to be honest.

Match Thread Coventry City-SWFC Match Thread- Saturday 5th October

The Swansea unchanged lineup was bizzare, because he rested several key players for the Spurs game, and the likes of Jamie Allen, Thomas-Asante and Bassette hadn't played much. To then thrown them in again 3 days later and not start Haji, Simms, Sakamoto etc was suicide. Jamie Allen is out for 6...

Mason Clark for Sakamoto (if he doesn't make it). Otherwise same starting X1. I would imagine Weds will sit in and frustrate us.

    Thomas Asante

Leeds away (last season) he was excellent as the lone man. He's just off form. He missed 2 good opportunities against Norwich first half which he would of buried last season. Played well at Watford and then lost his place (inexplibably) against Spurs & Swansea.

    Josh eccles

Eccles & Sheaf could be the best CM partnership in the division if they stay fit.

Agreed. He put some quality balls into the box 1st half. Thought Dasilva was unfortunate to lose his place as he was one of the better performers at Leeds IMO

Kitching poor? He made 2 bad passes in the 1st half admittedly, but defended well aside from that including clearing off the line, and was the best defender 2nd half

Should be our first choice CB for me. Yes his passing was wayward first half, but he organised the backline, got retribution on Dolan after he stamped on Saka and was brilliant 2nd half. Thomas looks far better playing with Kitching too. We've always bemoaned the lack of bite and nastiness in...

Definite intentional stamp on Saka. He raises his leg before bringing it down on Saka’s knee. Kitching laid one on him 5 mins later. That told me the players knew it was intentional

Surely a change of formation / system tonight. Hard to pick a team, as everybody has been way off form in the last 2 games, and pretty much most of the season. Bring back the box. Dovin (GK) Thomas Kitching Binks Dasilva and MVE wing backs Sheaf and Eccles (CM) Sakamoto and Thomas-Asante (AMs)...
