    Sunderland Player Ratings

Thought Lati did a good job today. Away from home against the better teams he’s a decent option.. Siimms getting no time is a strange one. Asante was poor as you say.

Kitching and Dasilva excellent. Liked Lati playing the holding DM role. The guy is a warrior. Asante disappointing. Simms should have been on at half time. We were a lot more direct today, long balls into the front two, but that might have been forced with Eccles & Sheaf out.. Collins. Always...

    Frank Lampard Rumours

Thing is. If he does well and gets us up, he’ll move on at the first sniff of a more lucrative contract. However… He’s a smart lad, And will have a hunger to prove people wrong after his stints at Chelsea and Everton. He would have looked at our squad, and obviously sees a squad he can work...

Right who's the next manager then?

To be fair to Lampard. He did pretty well at Derby, and got them to the play off final. Followed his heart by jumping ship to Chelsea, but they were already in a mess. Everton wasn't great, but that's a fire fighting job. Clever bloke, and will want to prove a point, but don't want him.

I am sure Carr has his own ideas of our best formation and personnel, which probably differs a lot to Robins. I'd like to see him mix it up a bit. He's got one game, as I am sure the new man will be in place by Sheff U.

Right who's the next manager then?

Carsley has some weight I think. No announcement yet, as he has a final England U21 fixture to play next weekend. Tuchal taking over in Jan, and may want his own man managing the U21s. Local to the area (or at least used to be), ex-player, highly rated coach, and probably wants a crack at...

Right who's the next manager then?

Watched a few interviews with Bloomfield on YT last night, as had never heard of him. Quite impressed me, there's a level of intensity there. Carsley would be my pick though.

Right who's the next manager then?

It sounds like a pre-rehearsed answer. as he has one more U21 fixture to fulfil before taking over at Cov

OFFICIAL: Mark Robins has been sacked

re: The Fans Forum with Doug next week. Why did Viveash leave, and was Robins consulted / involved in that decision? Was Robins involved with new coaches recruitment process? I think the "Real" answers to those questions above will tell us a lot. Bottom Line - We've been poor this season...

OFFICIAL: Mark Robins has been sacked

If you take out the emotional side of things, and past achievements. The performances and results post January last season have been poor (discounting the Leeds, Wolves & Man U games from last season, 2 of which were in the cup). This season has continued the trend of last. We've played...

    Your Top 3 MR Moments

    1) Notts Country (a) - League 2 Play Off Semi Final Such a brave attacking performance. We got a little lucky with the disallowed goal for Country in the 2nd half, but we looked miles above Notts, and McNulty's goal was a thing of beauty. 2) Stoke (h) - FA Cup 3rd Round League 2 team beating a...

OFFICIAL: Mark Robins has been sacked

I am shocked, with a shot of disappointment. Last night was really bad however, failing to create much in 90 mins against a limited side. His interview on CWR was worrying, calling out players, and basically not understanding the fall in performance levels from the last 2 games. I guess his job...

    Robins on cwr

He changed it on the hour. We were horrendous before that, against one of the worst teams I’ve seen at the CBS for a long time. He absolutely had to change it on 30 mins. 1-0 down at home and creating absolutely nothing. We had plenty options on the bench to mix things up (Dasilva, Torp...

    Viktor Moving on

When did Viveash say this?! Doesn't surprise me. The alleged training ground bust up with Godden before the Norwich away game in October 2022, the berating of younger players for not passing to him. However some players are like this, and it probably helps them being the player they are...

    Mason-Clark

Robins didn't want him to go as I recall, when the Reading deal fell through. He said he was relieved. If we lose a couple of strikers through injury at the same time during the season, he will be needed (even if just off the bench) and he can play wide if we switch formations. He's probably off...

    Josh Eccles

Sheaf, Eccles and Sakamoto. That will be our Promotion winning midfield.

Does the new formation change January targets?

Glad to see the back of 4-3-3 to be honest. We have 4 CF's who are all decent. We now know, Haji needs to be played down the middle. Sakamoto can play AM, with aplomb.. As for Mason-Clark and Rodrigues,. Excellent choices for when we do switch formation in games, or if we need to push the...

Should of given Kelly a 12 month deal. He did OK last season when called upon.

We rarely beat Derby. Wouldn’t surprise me that we pick up an unconvincing point on Weds, and beat Sunderland on Sat.

    Ball carrying centre halves

Kitching has good distribution. He's very similar to Harry McGuire. Technically quite good, and a sound passer but not very fast. People forget he was one of the main reasons for our brilliant run from Nov-Feb last season. He lost form (as did others) at the end of the season. This season he's...
