I can't think of any that were as good or better than when released. I imagine that's natural given the kind of club we are: if they play well they are sold. They only return if they haven't been playing well elsewhere for some time.

That's a huge dose of poetic license from the CET. People weren't given the option to choose £3m - the actual price paid for Wilson. And they weren't asked if they thought he was worth more than Wilson either.

If you look at the penalties he's taken, you can see that he's letting the keeper commit before passing into the net on the other side. Very cool head.

I have to say, that if Mowbray pulls this off by getting what he needs to bring success (and of course then delivers) then he'll have singled-handedly saved this club. Not prone to hyperbole usually but I cannot see us getting anywhere but League 2 and beyond unless something happens...

Obviously none of us knows him, however every comment I've ever seen about him is that he's a very confident person. I expect he's loving it. Edit: I'm agreeing with you :)

Well, anything that can happen will happen I guess. The world is full of people who make mistakes, sometimes because they are foolish and sometimes because we don't always have all the information and have to take a punt. Personally, I tend to not have an opinion on things where I know there...

Sorry, haven't really been following this discussion, is that what's happening? Even so, who really cares what other people think? I enjoy debating ideas with smart people and tend to ignore the people whose opinions are not based off any facts or thought.

Do we really care what people thought N years ago? Surely one definition of intelligence is the ability to change one's opinion in the light of new information.

It wasn't though, was it? They didn't play games for 4 years, feigning that they would go elsewhere. They just bought it. If you don't like that Wasps got a bargain then place the blame firmly on SISU's shoulders - their shenanigans put ACL into a corner.

Then a lot of people are wrong. £5m + £15m loan to repay.

It will be interesting to see how much they get for a ten year deal. They paid about £20m, including the loan from CCC, for the stadium. A ten year sponsorship deal could easily bring in £15m (Ricoh paid £10m). It's a pity that SISU wanted an even better return and fucked it all up.

I think the biggest risk is that Joy questions why we should invest any money in Mowbray when she had the same from the club last year on how excellent Pressley was and then we had to pay him to leave. And she'd have a point - but following that logic they'd never invest in anyone. Most people...
