I think if we think a player is a 20-25 probability, then a bundle of teams (including league(s) above us will be after them too - we're likely to have to hope that a 15 goal striker has a very good season, or a prolific non league striker (Newton?) can make the step up.

Agree 100% with where SISU have taken us, but let's not pretend that they took us from the '87 cup winners position to here - the slide had already started (albeit we were in a much healthier position when they took over).
