This is where a scouting network is vital. The likes of Leicester were snaffling up players from 'non-league' last year (or the year before IIRC). Didn't they take an ex Leamington lad? I know we have to look for 'nuggets in the lower leagues, but we can't afford for many of them to end up duds...

Let's face it - it is likely that in the case of a lot of the players we are in for, not a lot of us are going to have seen them play much, or know a lot about them. Cue a lot of threads like this. I'll still trawl through them though, trying to sort the wheat from the chaff and ending up confused!!

'm getting a season ticket, but the odd away game where we are sold out (or midweek away at Carlisle etc) and this may be a godsend. Will any of the cash get redirected to the clubs (apologies if it's in the original post)?

I agree with what has been said, but we had better get in early to get hold of them. Also hoping that our 'network' is operating effectively (don't laugh), otherwise we may end up kissing a few proverbial frogs before our prince comes along.

1 away win all season in a League of that quality suggests that something was badly amiss with the squad. If the players/squad had been better quality, even a poor manager should have been able to fluke more away wins than that

I thought Burge improved markedly during the year. He is a good shotstopper. Was it only Oldham who score less than us this year - there was the problem, combined with a bang average defence and midfield for the first 3/4 of the season, combined with a large mix of poor management during that...

We did a good twist and shout though, having scaled it. Got a good round of applause from the Geordies. Me and a couple of mates got a pub load of them in Wallsend singing 'sh*t on the Villa' (and I usually can't stand that song - had had a few lagers!)
