    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

I'd like to think that's not from this weekend but no doubt it is. Absolutely no excuse for this at all. Driving me mad, seeing people on my socials who I thought had more sense going about as if nothing is happening.

Something needed to be done 2 weeks ago but instead we just get told there’s no problem and enough food for everyone. Whats the point of me staying in the house all the time if when I run out of food and have to go shopping this is what I’m going to be faced with? Not like you can book a...

You could easily solve this but nobody seems to be trying. Have the supermarkets take orders from NHS staff and make deliveries to the hospitals at the end of their shifts.

    Supermarket shortages

Nothing near me either. Must depend on where you live. Tried three local shops today for bread and milk and nowhere to be seen. Not much else in there either and they weren't sure when they'd be restocked or what they'd be getting. What's it been now, two weeks of panic buying? No sign of it...

Don't buy the 'we had no way of predicting this' argument either. Plenty of people have been warning of something like this for years. Fair enough for it to be a shock to your average person on the street but why are those in charge so unprepared? One example from 2015:

    I know it’s a stupid question but

Can't see any reason why they wouldn't. Suspect they'll want to get the season up and running as quickly as possible when they get the go ahead so just from an organisational point of view think it would be more likely to be a behind closed doors game.

Not shouting about being the richest club in Europe now are they. Presumably if this has made such an impact they must be handing back all the TV and sponsorship money. They can't need the players to take a 25% reduction based on lost gate receipts given most of the tickets are free and there's...

Britannia is owned by Alex Langsam, one of the richest men in the country said to be worth about £250m by the Times Rich List. Surprise surprise he's a non taxpayer who since 1999 has been registered as living in Austria for tax-purposes. And to top it all off he made a decent chunk of his...

Imagine living in a foreign country working a shitty job on minimum wage. Worried about you family back home in Italy or Spain when someone gives you this. They're live in staff as well so lose their accommodation and, according to the news reports earlier, some can't even travel back to their...
