Couldn't read the story as the FT have it behind a paywall but I've found an Indian report which seems to come from the same interview. He works for the Serum Institute of India and seems to be suggesting that India doesn't have the infrastructure or manufacturing capacity to delver vaccines to...

Not entirely sure how it works. Presumably if the Cambridge University one comes off we're at the front of the queue. If its another vaccine that is the one we need are the pharma companies going to be dicks about who owns the rights or just let every country manufacture it themselves?

Life found on Venus of all places!

Knew it was something pretty big as the BBC have cleared the schedule for a Sky At Night special this evening. The way things are going here I'm up for moving to Venus.

This of course illustrates the issue with not collecting enough data but lets go with 3.4m from the Imperial College recent study. Even if you take the bottom end figure for herd immunity to kick in at 60% you're still looking at half a million deaths. Now it may be the mortality rate changes if...

But isn't that because of the restrictions that have been in place? 41,628 deaths from 368,504 cases, that's more than 1 in 10 people who test positive dying. Are we really going back to the suggestion that we let it work its way through the population until we hit herd immunity?

There must be something we're not being told about the testing. According to the government website we're still doing the same number of tests everyday and even if demand had gone up it should still be possible for people to get a test.

Think it might be that season ticket holders can get the game on ifollow, even if its on Sky. For those paying a tenner per game the Sky games aren't on ifollow but you can get a Now TV day pass for the same price.

    Things that annoy you

The BUPA mental health advert. Lists a load of MH issues people might be suffering as a result of the pandemic, lockdown etc. At the end says search Bupa Mental Health. Thought it can't possibly be as cynical as trying to flog private healthcare off the back of people anixeties about covid so...

Been at my Mum & Dads all day watching the most boring ODI I can remember. Finally gave up as England had no chance and in the time it took me to get hope the Aussies lost 4 wickets for 3 runs!

I cant airplay from iPad or iPhone, just get a blank screen, same with a HDMI adapter on either of those devices. Got an old Mac Mini and AirPlay or HDMI don‘t work, video blanks out and just get commentary. For some reason if I airplay from my Macbook it works fine.

The only comment I’ve made on the German scheme is that it has been extended, as is the case in many other countries, and, when you asked this question previously, that 60% of salary is preferable to £420 a month on universal credit. Sure you will now point out some clause which means I’d be...

Not sure how you've come to that conclusion. I can do my job from home, it makes zero difference to me. I'd quite happily be doing my job now if that was an option to me but it isn't. I haven't made a choice to sit at home on furlough, that decision was made by my employer.

Is there any evidence to suggest there are large numbers of genuinely redundant positions that companies are retaining people on furlough in? Employers have to contribute towards furlough and will be expecting the scheme to end in October so either need to bring people back into work or make...

It'll end eventually mate, even if we do nothing. Hopefully either a vaccine or improvements in treatment can come through before the end of the year. Everyone is concentrating on a vaccine but if we get treatment to a point where its a couple of weeks off work and popping a few pills we're in...
