The thing about that night in Stoke is that they were a long time relegated and had been a shambles all season and the gate was 6000 with quite a few of us. Painter had a late penalty and missed. Score and we were down.
The Everton game was at 11.30 on a Sunday morning!!! They were still pissed!
Morally wrong? completely indefensible? Come on get a sense of perspective, its a game, I wouldn't watch Wasps but I would defend the right of anybody to spend their time doing what they like.
Who the fuck are you telling them what they should do? stroppy and defensive enough for you?
Head held...
Never did any player look happier to wear the Coventry City shirt!
Loved that team with Yorath, Fergie, Hutch, Bobby Mac, Powell, Graydon et al.
Played with 2 in midfield and out and out wingers, no wonder Ferguson and Wallace scored so many......
What a really disappointing response from a decent poster. It really beggars belief that a guy with proven funds "outs himself" to us and the owners and he is challenged to his net worth, was he advocating a boycott? I don't agree with the way they are going about things..........FFS its their...
I think that some on here are going to miss Sisu.
A consortium comes forward and tries to get us out of the claws of these despicable owners and they themselves are questioned on tactics, how they presented themselves, who is involved, depth of pockets etc...... I for one am delighted that...
Nearly all owners care about the club in their custody..................
You are trying to second guess the motives of Sisu and you are sticking some sort of logic in your thinking, surely that is a lesson we should have all gleaned by now? They march to their own drum.
I am hoping that...
I think Sisu have shown they don't give a toss about our opinions.
This is the perfect scenario: local guys, City fans, business know how, wedge. This could be it!!!
I am trying to work out where I stand on this thread.
I don't live in Coventry so don't have the emotional attachment to Wasps that so many seem to have but I don't blame them for taking advantage of the Ricoh debacle for their own gain.
I also don't get the "you can't watch both clubs" vibe...
There could be another scenario at play here, rather like the Cold War times, we just don't understand the people who own us and that is deliberate and suits their purpose.
Our finance director is once again hitting us with logic and common sense but I would ask when has that been the modus...
I am not saying it will happen but if it gives Sisu a way out at a price they can live with then it will be done once that point has been reached.
Putting logic behind the owners thinking is both pointless and frustrating. If anyone can get this over the line i hope it is this group who have the...
I have no opinion on how much anybody earns, it's about market forces and what people will accept, here in KSA you can pay staff150 pounds a month and they will thank you, for this they get accommodations and food, medical and transport included and no tax and flights home every couple of years...
I know that some on here are resentful of the constant references back to that day 30 years ago but for me there has been nothing(birth of children included) to compare with the emotion I felt that day. It was simply the fulfillment of a life's dream to see my team win something.
Today will be...
I used to love the 3.15 kick off. it meant that you played with floodlights from the start in the autumn and winter and you got the half time and full time scores whilst the game was still on.
Whilst I agree there tended to be an overkill in years gone by, surely the 30th anniversary is worth celebrating as people like George and John are not in the best of health and will probably not be around much longer.
One of my favorite grounds, had great results over the years, Spurs were always beatable or could thrash us on the day.
97 apart, I remember Chris Marsden tearing them a new one in 94 and Tommy Hutchison scoring the winning goal in a 3-2 league cup win in 77.
My first Spurs away game was 69 and...
