ACL has "net value of nil"

Nope - but if they want ACL free and clear of debt that's what they'd need to pay. They could, in theory, buy ACL in entirety for £13-14 million, but ACL would still have to service the mortgage. SISU's plan (Fisher's Roadmap) was to clear the mortgage, because that's the prime driver of the...

ACL has "net value of nil"

I'm not sure this is of vast significance, except to those struggling with the concept of 'net' value. ;) Basically, this seems to suggest that CCC and Higgs are both saying that ACL is worth around £13-14m, unless I've misread it. I think it means that if there was a deal to be done along...

    Cold Calls

Here you go Reg: http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/index.html Will work for most cold calls, though some dodgy types ignore it and some even set up abroad to avoid it. Should cut the calls right down though. Edit: Oops, sorry Reg, just seen you're already with TPS. Might be worth...

Christie confirms he is off ?

It's a fair question this. I think you need to look at the psychology of footballers though. Most of these guys have been the best in their position at whatever club they've played at for their entire lives. It's in their nature to think they'll succeed wherever they'll go, and with a bit of...

What Happened to the Mark Labovitch Thread?

So there I was, with the post of the decade in repsonse to the Mark Labovitch "Someone's cousin met ML" thread, only to find it had gone missing... http://www.skybluestalk.co.uk/threads/44614-Mark-Labovitch ... are there dark forces messing with your server, Nick? :)

Damn. And I'd have gotten away with it if it hadn't been for you meddling kids. :)

FAO Simon Gilbert or Andy Turner

I think in fairness to CET/Simon Gilbert it's fair enough to report it straight and then leave us to draw our own judgements. That's what what we do for everyone else's pronouncements after all. Plus there's not a lot else going on at the moment is there? The calm before the storm, perhaps...

    Pearce bid for Wilson

In fairness to our current owners, we've always sold our best players to 'bigger' clubs. Of course, now that we're at the level we're at it's hard to accept that clubs like Huddersfield are bigger than us, but in terms of league position and available funds I'm afraid I think they are. More...

    SISU lost the club £4M

Just to add, whatever the loss of direct revenue from ticket sales you should probably add the possible impact as the result of those who drift away from the club forever, or the kids who never start supporting the club. It's basically a pretty big gamble, financially, SISU's tactics. The...

Very true Brian - at least 57% of statistics are made up, apparently. ;)

Ex-councillor Brian Patton to stand v Ann Lucas on Get Cov Back to the Ricoh platform

From the transcript: MR JUSTICE LEGGATT: ... These days, the usual approach is not, as it once was, to treat the counterclaim and the claim independently; it's to look overall at who the winner is and it seems to me that this is a case which has effectively ended as a nil-all draw, if I'm...

    Marilyn Knatchbull Hugessen answers questions

There wasn't anyone trying to buy it - despite it apparently being key to CCFC's future. So, other than selling to someone who had no interest in purchasing, what else did the charity do wrong?

    Marilyn Knatchbull Hugessen answers questions

Indeed and in what way were the charity responsible? Was it for coming to the rescue when the club had nowhere else to turn, or refusing to sell at a discount under an inadequately secured buy-now, pay later plan?

    Marilyn Knatchbull Hugessen answers questions

If Coventry City hadn't been run by such a bunch of chancers the Charity would never have had to step in, so talk of motive is just an absolute nonsense to me. "I know", thought Ms Higgs, "we'll let the club run itself into the ground, and offer them a pittance for their share now, and then ask...

Ex-councillor Brian Patton to stand v Ann Lucas on Get Cov Back to the Ricoh platform

You know Torch is angry when he talks about people getting their 'knickers in a twist'. I'd absolutely agree that this is 'doing something', my concern is that it's doing the wrong thing.

Ex-councillor Brian Patton to stand v Ann Lucas on Get Cov Back to the Ricoh platform

Don't know the chap personally - but anyone shifting around between parties doesn't generally come across as too committed to their political beliefs to me. Having said that, I dug this up if anyone's interested - obviously he's been concerned about CCC funding the Ricoh for some time...

Ex-councillor Brian Patton to stand v Ann Lucas on Get Cov Back to the Ricoh platform

Was a Labour Councillor, then went to Lib Dems. Also ran unsuccesfully for MP as a Lib Dem in 2010. I can't help but feel that there's a hint of political opportunism about this chap, but maybe that's unfair. It is only my opinion, fwiw.
