    Judicial Review thread

I'm sorry Rob, but that's unfair. Almost everyone here posts under anonymity - which is why it's important to look at the facts (or what people state as the facts), and challenge them, this rather than to start assuming hidden motives. I don't think it's a secret that you're a friend of Les...

    Judicial Review thread

I think what the judge means is that it can't really be classed as paying the rent. This also points back to a decision in court as I recall, where SISU were told they had to top up the escrow as well as paying the rent due.

He isn't Gent, or at least I'd be very surprised if he is. I've considered Rob a friend for a long time. It doesn't mean he's right on everything, mind, and I detest this Council-plant, SISU rent-boy stuff. I wish we could just leave it out, personally. Appreciate you were kidding when you...

That's way out of line, Rob. It's like asking you if you're happy working for SISU.

support the ccfc academy with the worst lottery ever

Given this is (vaguely) football-related surely you need to be 110% confused, otherwise you're clearly not trying hard enough. ;)

Surely "Congratulations". Stick with the classics. Plus they played it at Wembley for us, or at least the marching band did. Ah, now he's on about the "marching" again, for sure now can you not just leave it. ;)

Bah, bloody closet liberals - far too left wing for me. Why, I bet he's not even related to the Queen. ;)

Meh, fwiw Irish father, English mother. Would always support England over Ireland in sport, since that's my country of birth, but have no problem with those who celebrate their heritage more than me, even if it's technically more distant. It's handy having two teams to support, especially in...

    Back to Saturdays and Tuesdays.

Absolutely spot on. Twenty years ago pretty much my entire social life revolved around CCFC. Five years ago I gave up my season ticket. Last season (for the first time I can remember since the late 80s) I didn't go to a single game. If we're in Northampton next season I'm thinking of getting...

Judicial Review - How many days will it be in court?

Apologies if this is already out there somewhere, but I just wondered if anyone had seen anything official about how long the JR is scheduled for in court? I might try to pop along. I'm not really fussed about the detail, but I'd like to see what Joy really looks like in person. ;)

Ah, once again we've lost out to a 'bigger' club who used to be a smaller club. Are Sphinx letting anyone go in close season? Just a thought. ;)

One for Rob S and the Trust?

Indeed - in fact I'm coming to the conclusion that it's all history now, to a greater or lesser degree, and all of the parties have to start looking forwards rather than backwards if we're to get out of this mess. Personally, I think that that means SISU start talking about a rental agreement...

One for Rob S and the Trust?

Mornings NW. Agree entirely that the SBT should stay as reasonable as possible in it's dialogues with our owners (whomever they may be), regardless of provocation. As for Haskell's motives in offering fan involvement, I don't think there's any evidence one way or another that he would have done...

I don't doubt fans' loyalty to the club - but how about to players? I'm thinking here of things like the 'bomb squad' and how many supported that idea. We're quick to demand that players are loyal to the club, right up until the point that we don't want them any more. Managers too, for that...

Furlong and Morrell, indeed. Didn't take long! I thought they were both half-decent players - in fact if I remember correctly, they were both strikers whom we attempted to convert into wide midfield players. Very odd, particularly for Morrell, who I thought was a pretty good finisher, but...

Did he refuse to play - or was he actually injured? I'm not claiming to know either way, but the only thing I can recall is this. http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/sport/football/football-news/coventry-city-boss-steven-pressley-6641076 There's no doubt the manager thought he could play, but he...

    Football League deadline update

Or should SISU pay a penalty for approaching YB unilaterally (potentially damaging ACL), failing to provide Higgs with sufficient security to complete that deal, and going on a rent strike without the agreement of the other parties. All of that happened way before the council bought out the...

I'm all for giving the lad a chance - but I think it's fair enough to point out that it is a long shot, given the level he's coming from, which is a fair way down the non-league pyramid. However I can think of another one from non-league who had a pretty decent professional career. Was in his...
