    Things that annoy you

There are very few lagers brewed in their country of origin for the UK market (the exceptions being the ones owned by Asahi International - which include Peroni, Grolsch and Urquell). Corona is another one, but not an Asahi brand. So your Carlsberg, Budweiser, Tiger (the Singapore one, not...

It's actually *illegal* to park in your front garden if you have to drive over a footway that doesn't have a dropped kerb - it's the driving over the footway that is illegal rather than the parking. And it's also illegal to park across any dropped kerb, even if it's your own! There's some old...

What? The postie has been shoving razor blades and shaving foam through your letterbox? FFS, that used to be an honest upstanding career ...

    Scammers! Hahahahahahaha!

I was taken aback that HM Courts & Tribunals Service seem to use the email address <[email protected]> to inform people of a "Penality Charge" nowadays, and believe that the Home Office deal with congestion charging zones, and use the link to a dating website for the "Pay Now" button! I...

    Finally settled!...........

We've moved about a bit, but due to changes in jobs rather than a desire to change houses. We love where we are now (5 years in Worcestershire, same as HH, but with a view of Bredon Hill and the Cotswold Edge rather than the Malverns), and plan to stay here until we retire and release our equity...

The 'not so obvious' hot babes thread!

Most of my teachers ( i went to school in Bristol) seemed very old, and were not remotely attractive. I had a different French teacher every year, and they were all extremely moose-like! Until Mrs Turner in my 4th and 5th year (ask your parents, kids!) - she was French, and utterly divine in...

    Things that annoy you

The evolution of the human voice in Britain (generally among the under-40s and women, in the majority) to be more of a croak than a voice. It is particularly prevalent in the whingey "singers" around today, but is now in general circulation. As with all steps in evolution, hopefully natural...

Spot on! I was having a discussion on Twitter last night with someone who was vaunting the Sweden model (the architect of which spent the early months of the pandemic slagging off the UK lockdown approach). The problem is that Sweden didn't NEED to lock down because everyone apparently politely...

    The humble cheese & pickle....

But since we've both been working from home these past 7 months, the variety and quality of lunches has gone off the scale compared to what i used to make myself to take to work. And we get to eat together most days, which is an added bonus.

    The humble cheese & pickle....

Home cooked ham with boiled-but-not-pickled beetroot is a great sandwich. And i have to disagree about the choice of crisps with a cheese sarnie - for me, it has to be salt and vinegar, every time! Oh and the missus did us a fish finger sarnie last week, with a bit of ketchup. Amazing!!!

    Health and safety Jobs

I would say it is relatively easy to get a job in H&S with a couple of decent qualifications behind you (we struggle to find good people when we have vacancies - most applicants are chancers or no-hopers!). Doing NEBOSH Construction is a good call, but consider a Fire qualification too - there...

    Coventry University - Covidiots.

No, @shmmeee ONE lockdown procedure (that of working from home if you can) When it comes to the collective set of measures, manual labourers comply less well than average on every one. And ethnicity of White (noting the reference point of BAME) comply better with all of them. (Oh, and Remainers...
