I thought that the democratically elected representatives of those citizens unanimously voted for it. That's what they're there to do, make decisions on behalf of the electorate. If you're unhappy with this then don't vote for them at the next election.

Actually I don't think that they can just give it away as part of it was a loan to the club, before the club sold their share in ACL. My battery is on its last legs I think so time to go.

Yes there is a risk if they default just as there is risk in everything. I'm not an expert on financial risk so I can't comment on that with any in depth knowledge.
