Coventry City owners invite council to talks over Sky Blues returning to Ricoh Arena

Thank you. Is it Tim rubbing off on Joy or vice versa as she's starting to sound like him although to be fair there aren't a lot of Joy statements to use for comparison. What we need is some clarity from both sides: SISU If plan A is the ricoh then say so or they'll do something else...

Coventry City owners invite council to talks over Sky Blues returning to Ricoh Arena

Well the judge who threw out the judicial review application the first time didn't agree and referenced the lack of rent payments as playing a key role.

Coventry City owners invite council to talks over Sky Blues returning to Ricoh Arena

I'd really like to know if she made an offer (I think she did) in the ownership meeting in the summer and if so how much she offered for the freehold. Oh and don't forget in the interview she said Have you ever made a sensible offer for them, and if so what was it, at what price did the...

    Now we're getting somewhere...

Were Saints ever in as bad financial shape as us?

    Now we're getting somewhere...

Well for example Swansea don't own their own ground (the council own it) and the Swans are a few leagues higher than we are. They are part owners in the stadium management company* something we could have been in ACL, but SISU walked away from talks with the Higgs. *However the Welsh...

How on earth can The Ricoh survive?

Aah you've had access to the ACL management accounts then would you mind sharing this with the rest of us?

    Now we're getting somewhere...

Why wouldn't we exist? The Co-op bank and all the others we owed money to when Sisu acquired us would just have put us into admin and someone would have bought the assets. Now where have I seen that happen before?

    Now we're getting somewhere...

So I'll see you at the first match in the new stadium and in the meantime you can keep going to Sixfields if you like. Not sure what all the fuss is about if going back to the Ricoh would be a backward step, not sure why the Judicial review application appeal is still going ahead though in that...

    Borrow my calculator Timmy ?

I agree with you about the revenue streams but why do we need to own the freehold?
  12. James Smith

    Now we're getting somewhere...

Can you explain why we would need the freehold as opposed to just the revenue streams?

    Now we're getting somewhere...

Ah but is it the same fund who are financing us now who were doing so before? If it is then you would have to include the previous money invested wouldn't you? If not then I might agree with you, a new fund would be starting from zero but overall the amount sunk into the club by SISU investors...

    Now we're getting somewhere...

I've asked before and got no answer so hopefully we'll find out this time. Even if SISU were sold the Ricoh for £10m they'd make no money on the activities that happen there because ACL have a 40+ year lease and we'd still be renting from them.

    Now we're getting somewhere...

That's very true we don't know what losses that Joy is prepared to allow the fund to take, and it might be that she's willing to risk it all. Unfortunately this does mean that if Plan A isn't a new stadium then we're going to be playing at Sixfields for a long time (or until the money runs out).

    Now we're getting somewhere...

You do know that you can see most of the pitch from the hill and can save yourself £9 which you could spend elsewhere and still see the game. Just mentioning another option not trying to encourage you either way.

The Price of an Exclusive is Reid and Thorne downfall

Maybe they will, who knows - maybe they want to wait until after Judicial Review Application Appeal is heard?
