No one knows what is sustainable as no one knows who is deciding this investment is a worthwhile consideration.

We do know that the football
League had evidence the losses are to be funded. If these funds are generated by one or two high risk investors who are gambling on a specified endgame then it doesn't matter if 1 or 6,000 are in Sixfields. Indeed if promotion was achieved then much of the speculators funds will be recouped almost immediately.

Crowds mean nothing and negative publicity even less.

That's very true we don't know what losses that Joy is prepared to allow the fund to take, and it might be that she's willing to risk it all. Unfortunately this does mean that if Plan A isn't a new stadium then we're going to be playing at Sixfields for a long time (or until the money runs out).

I'm not the misguided one, I've carefully listened to many, many others who have the experience of running a football club (including some who've run ours in the past) and whilst hindsight is a fine thing, we cannot 'turn-back' the clock.

Everyone that knows about the 'ins & outs' of running a club is agreed that my club, our club, your club will not survive unless the football club or it's owners actually own the stadium and have access to ALL revenue streams, FACT.

SINCE CCC HAVE REFUSED TO EVEN TALK TO AT LEAST 5 POTENTIAL OWNERS ( who ALL insisted on purchasing the Arena ), it tells me we're never likely to play there again and I personally wouldn't be sorry, sterile and soulless!
We need to move on and if that means a new ground, so be it!

We are where we are either accept it for what it is or don't attend but please shut-up moaning and turning any of the positives into negatives!

PUSB!

That is not true, they gave spoken to at least two potential owners.

On another note, we gave no choice but to accept the plight we are in, but I for one will not shut up, will not go into Sixfields, to me its morally wrong.

Bollocks. If it is a fact, spell out the rationale for those of us less insightful than you.

Still, in truth, a little confused. Surely they're losing more money than ever now, with even less prospect of reversing it?

It's a relatively small gamble compared to the past in the hope of clawing something back, isn't it? If you effectively start from a position of zero a few months ago, there's a possibility of something worth risking something.

Plus they're actually showing the ruthlessness we were promised when they came in!

Could you explain please why Coventry City needs to own a stadium when so many other successful clubs don't?

I've asked before and got no answer so hopefully we'll find out this time. Even if SISU were sold the Ricoh for £10m they'd make no money on the activities that happen there because ACL have a 40+ year lease and we'd still be renting from them.

Not sure what the link is here? SISU don't own the Ricoh (last time I looked), so how can people who want to talk to SISU be insisting on owning the Ricoh. Wouldn't these people have to be talking to the owners of the Ricoh? I know you have apparently talked to many, many others who have run a football club (you must have an interesting circle of acquaintances), but did any of them tell you whether it will be CCFC that owns its new stadium, or will it be the current owners. (i.e. will CCFC still not have access to the Revenue streams?) Just asking :thinking about::thinking about:;)

I'm pretty sure there's more than one successful club that doesn't own its own stadium.

As for your fact that CCC have refused to talk to at least five potential owners, can you provide some evidence please?

If SISU have moved on from the Ricoh, fair enough and so be it, as you say. i just wonder why they're persisting with the JR, and why there's been no actual movement on the new stadium if that's the case though.

Please supply the names of the clubs who are successful but don't own their own ground? Unfortunately the 'rules' have changed thanks to Sepp and his friends.
FIFA Financial Fair Play (complicated & involved but don't let it put you off researching it!).

Never a good idea to reveal your 'sources' otherwise you may not get any information in the future (re providing evidence!).

Probably proceeding with the JR on strong legal advice? I have no intention of speculating and whilst I'll agree we may not have the perfect owners, who does?
Newcastle, Leeds, Cardiff, Man. U, Liverpool, Southampton, Birmingham, I could go on & on & on & on but .......................to be quite honest, I'm bored.

Ah but is it the same fund who are financing us now who were doing so before? If it is then you would have to include the previous money invested wouldn't you? If not then I might agree with you, a new fund would be starting from zero but overall the amount sunk into the club by SISU investors will still be going up won't it?

Plus they're actually showing the ruthlessness we were promised when they came in!

Not only that but everything ACL said in their statement in August about what Joy said in the meeting has proved to be fairly accurate.

Can you explain why we would need the freehold as opposed to just the revenue streams?

I never said that you said they did.

True ;)

tbf I was throwing terms around with gay abandon to make a point, and ended up making it badly as a result ;)

I think the point has to be acknowledged somewhere however that undoubtedly Seppala knows what she's doing with such things better than I do... hence the fact she can buy my club and I can't!

So rather than decide their current strategy makes no sense, it's better to ask how it does make sense.

Not possible to counter something by just deciding they're illogical fools after all, and failure won't make their abilities any less.

Good point, well made. I expect a deathly silence now from the Rugger fan. Either that or bollocks tied up in nonsense tied up in tosh.

Going back to the Ricoh is or would be a backward step, everyone conveniently seems to have forgotten that the unsustainable rent deal (£1:28 Million) was signed more than 2 years before we even moved-in 2003 and just to "break-even", we required gates in excess of 23,000! Give me strength!

Our current owners should not have agreed to it when they took over the club but the rent issue had previously been brought to the councils attention by our chairman in 2005/06 but his requests for a revue were turned down. He borrowed heavily to off-set the losses we inevitably were making and was unable to repay the debt.

If it hadn't been for our current owners we'd be where???????????????????????

DEFINITELY NOT IN THE FOOTBALL LEAGUE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Be very careful what you wish for.

Tosh tosh tosh tosh tosh. You have no idea. SISU will not give a shit what the BBC writes. Look - believe me, I have 30 years of experience in this industry. ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS MAKING A PROFIT. And they have decided that this will be achieved by picking up the Ricoh for a few bob. It's an asset they can then lease to the club for years to come.

Out of interest, while you're here...

Why do you think this is more likely than using the unification of both club and stadium to sell for 'something' from a value of 'nothing', and for them to scarper post-haste and move on?

Interesting use of punctuation. Well done!

Does anyone dispute that the original rent agreement was unsustainable? Who is that person?
Remind me again of any other point you want to make.

Here's the thing: If you want to go to Sixfields then go. I'm not going to stop you or shout insults at you. But I'd lay off the attempts to justify - 'cos they are veneer thin and anyone who wanted to would make your arguments look silly. Do you really want a debate on your decision to attend? Do you? I challenge you to a one-on-one thread. Nick - could that be done? Or anyone else who attends - come on, debate with me. And that includes Les Reid.

Yeah let's be grateful that we are playing 35 miles from home!!!
There is always a deal to be done,it's just greed on both sides.
Sisu knew the rental price yet assumed that they could just stop paying it !!!
They don't submit accounts and their biggest flaw is that they don't communicate with the fans .
But remember be grateful......

My thinking is they would try and sell them together.

However, we know they value the club far higher than its real value (Little Miss I want a return on my investment wouldnt sell the club for its true value).

Therefore I think they would try and sell them both, but no one would pay the asking price.

Sisu are then left with two businesses. One making a steady profit, the other making massive losses.

How do you think a hedge fund would act in that situation?

So I'll see you at the first match in the new stadium and in the meantime you can keep going to Sixfields if you like. Not sure what all the fuss is about if going back to the Ricoh would be a backward step, not sure why the Judicial review application appeal is still going ahead though in that case.

I can name at least 3 parties that have expressed an interest in buying the club over the last 2 years.

Please don't present your opinion as fact.

Why wouldn't we exist? The Co-op bank and all the others we owed money to when Sisu acquired us would just have put us into admin and someone would have bought the assets. Now where have I seen that happen before?

Perhaps not in non-league, it is probable, that ha SISU not 'come to the rescue', we would've got relegated that season (we survived by 1 point, -10 = relegation). There's no good predicting what would've happened from then, someone worse than SISU could've came in, by the same merit, we could've had someone better,
Who knows?

Exactly. Anything could have happened.

Saying we wouldn't exist has about as much merit as me claiming that Bill Gates would have definitely bought us if sisu hadn't.
