    Waggot & Fisher - Again

Are you suggesting that that was the general view? If you are, I disagree. Have you ever considered that it's even possible that one or two such statements may have been posted as wind ups?

    Waggot & Fisher - Again

I don't think that we have another Eric Black situation here. I think that that were many who thought that Thorn was doing a difficult job in what were pretty awaful circumstances and felt that some balance had to be set against some of the more vitriolic posters. I wouldn't have been...

    Waggot & Fisher - Again

The forum is a place where people pretty much post their own views and choose their evidence (or their spin on it) to support those views. So, you're correct that after the B'ham game a number of "pro-Thorn" posters said what a good job he'd done in bringing in such players. The "anti-Thorn"...

    Anybody else?

Went with my daughter to the game last night. Having a drink before kick off and looking around the assembled Cov fans, I remarked that the average age there was much older than when I used to go to away games in my teens/twenties. I guess it's not surprising. With the dross on offer over...

What went wrong ("wronger!!") last night

Really an awful night to be a Cov fan. Poor performance making an OK team just out of Division 4 look like they'd give Real Madrid a run for their money. So (in my view) what went wrong? Goalkeeper - Murphy got a lot of stick last night and he deserved it for the first goal and for almost...

I'd agree with that - you could add Dennis Mortimer in midfield too!

Only one man to blame for this- Thorn

Didn't have you in mind Lord. Whilst we don't always agree, your posts tend to either have some reason or some humour in them.

Only one man to blame for this- Thorn

True. When the signings looked good, that was the stance taken by "pro Thorn" posters. Conversely "anti Thorn" posters were saying that the credit should go to Waggot (or Shaw or Carsley). Now they're not looking so good, the arguments have been reversed. Oh what fun!!

Only one man to blame for this- Thorn

Fair point. When has an anonymous post on a forum ever been found to be less than 100% true? Isn't the truth that most people believe the "rumours" that fit their world view and ridicule the ones that contradict it?

    Ince, Robins or Shaw

So on that basis, where are Reid, Adams, Dowie and Bothroyd when you need them?

Only one man to blame for this- Thorn

I never thought that Thorn was great, just a guy trying his best in very difficult circumstances. Completely understand why some people felt he should go, just don't like some of the unattributed nonsense that the zealots still feel the need to push.

Only one man to blame for this- Thorn

Let's assume he was hungover - wouldn't be the first manager in history to have had a drink or few. Why would that mean that training would have to be cancelled. Couldn't training be taken by the coaches, actually isn't that their job?

Football league paper says it's Ince Brown Money

We're only going after managers who are not in a job. The fact that they're unemployed suggests that none of them are particularly "sought after".

    look on the brightside

The bright side is that Shrewsbury is only up the road for me. No long drive home on Tuesday after we've lost :)

    Why boo a player?

Sadly the boo boys always seem to have particularly loud voices. Perhaps it's natures way of compensating for short changing them intelligence wise..............

    Why boo a player?

The booing - or at least some of it - was coming from some "older" guys at the back of Block 17. I was unsure if they were a group of psychology professors trying to disprove the oft quoted theory that booing makes sportsmen perform worse, or a bunch of pissed morons.
