Very good performance, best for a long time, perhaps even the season. 10 needless nervous minutes at the end, but I had faith we’d see it through. Team has developed that resilience and ability to find a way; it’s reminiscent of the play off season. Exciting times ahead!

Rudoni a waste of money. Sakamoto has lost it. Bassette > Simms. Classic stuff.

Pitch looks shit. Their 20 likes to mix it. Get Kitching on the wind up of their 28.

    Pato

Him turning us down keeps being mentioned, but didn’t get any response when I asked this a few weeks ago. It’s just a reason to be unfairly bitter with no substance.

Just realised they have that donkey Porteous at the back. He plays RCB usually, let’s hope EMC can get at him and exploit his lack of pace or general ability.

I think we’ll win and with a good performance to boot. Confidence and momentum are still on our side and with that rumoured strong bench we are in a great position to change the game if needed, especially offensively. Not sure he’ll go to his preferred 4 ATB yet, but either way I’d like Grimes...

    Ellis simms

He’s so good and so much potential too. I’m convinced his introverted personality is the reason he isn’t a fan favourite and is often on the boo boys list. Anyone still crying for the bloke who runs around a lot and points for the ball in impossible places?

Match Thread Sheffield Wednesday - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 15th Feb

Poor performance but fantastic result. All the cliches re playing poorly and winning are entirely relevant. Starting to have that same play off season feeling; finding form at the right time, grinding out results, camaraderie and connection growing, momentum on our side. And Sheffield has...

    Collins On The Bench Again

Decent enough team, back to the shape which brought us success and a strong bench. Feeling pretty hopeful. Side note; the constant point scoring and bickering is tragic.

    Pato

Really playing into the Coventry thing, and I’m absolutely all for it. Before people get themselves worked up, he’s never “rejected” us. Good signing and it’s even better he’s a Cov kid.

No alcohol allowed at the 2034 World Cup

Obviously you don’t need alcohol to have a good time and all that. However, if you’re spending a fair whack to go to Saudi to watch the the WC you surely want the choice on whether you have a beer or not. It’s also part of a big tournament, the social side of being with your...

    How good is Sakamoto?

There’s also the fact he’s not had a sustained run in his favoured RW position with MVE behind him. If we switch back to a 4 soon he’s a guaranteed starter in that role, especially as he has no real competition. I would like to sign a pacey RW for next year but would definitely keep Sakamoto...

Change to an attacking shape = great Doing it with the personnel we have = not so great

Repeating myself from previous games, but I really don’t get this shape or tactic. Rudoni wasted out wide, Sakamoto involved more than last game, but looks a bit lost, and Simms isolated. Go back to two up front or all out 4-3-3, the current shape/tactic is not producing what we know we are...

Fair play to Kitching. I hear a fair bit from behind the scenes and he was a ‘bad egg’ - the ITK were right. However he’s absolutely turned it around and it’s been reflected in the commitment in his recent performances. He deserves the recognition tonight. Big ol redemption arc - nice to see.

    Jack burroughs

Not sure what’s gone wrong really. He looked more than good enough when he made his debut a few years ago, then had a poor game, was dropped and hasn’t done anything since. He cannot have regressed that much? Appreciate he won’t start ahead of JDS, but I would like to see him get minutes.

As long as the middle three is; Grimes Torp Rudoni We will at least have the ability to create through the middle. Flat back 4 is too big a risk with JDS. And I don’t think we have the wingers available to warrant it. If we do go flat then Binks or Burroughs LB.
