    Running

I am running Brighton and London this year. I honestly feel totally unprepared. Work has been a bit full on and it’s involved more than planned social stuff, so my diet has been poor. I ran Ashby 20 on Sunday and I genuinely felt worse when I finished than any previous marathon, so so so hilly.

    Sakamoto

He has developed a bit of attitude (in a good way) / gamesmanship too. Notice yesterday how he kicked the ball away after Wrights goal, his scuffle in the box during a corner and generally being more physical too. He was everywhere yesterday and first to many second balls; he was a big part of...

Not much to add that hasn’t been said; we were incredible today. Best we’ve played for a long time. We were on it from the first moment and relentless after that. Other than one that Isidor hit miles wide (and was possibly offside for) I don’t remember being worried. Everyone played well, but...

Wright takes the plaudits for the goals and penalty win, but Allen has been immense. And in fairness off the ball so has Torp.

That is embarrassing defending from Thomas. Taken the piss out of twice.

Also; Allen had a great start, he’s everywhere breaking up play. Looks like he’s been asked to do a job on Bellingham too as he’s constantly close to him.

Wifi back to not working at the ground. Was trying to post; it might not be popular but we need a dominant display and more from Grimes today. And in fairness he’s doing that so far.

If you believe in such things, few events from today; - Saw two magpies independently (ie on their own) on my run this morning (one for sorrow etc) = bad sign - Helped an old chap who didn’t know how to pay for parking and was getting into a massive fluster as people were getting irritated -...

I wouldn’t change shape as it means no natural place for two of our better players in Sakamoto and EMC. LB is the problem we all know it is, made worse by Mr Reliable becoming increasingly unreliable. Not opposed to Binks at LB, but I think it’ll be JDS. If Simms plays well today we win. If...

    Derby ratings

Simms was poor tonight, but Wright, BTA or Bassette up top all make us worse. Simms at a minimum plays the 9 role better than the others Wright is way off it. Bidwell has always been limited but at least reliable, he seems to be visibly regressing this season which I never thought I’d see.

It’s a horrendous performance and a shit result. As much as we all want to go overly emotive on how shit it is, let’s just try and remember it’s still an overall good run of form. If you want to be cynical you could argue it’s been coming. But I’d like to hope it’s still a blip and we’ll...

Not up to date with the thread, so might have been said, but Wright is miles off. Playing with no focal point as neither him or Bassette are offering.

Sheaf being injured all the time is really frustrating and his performances this season has been sub par. However that doesn’t suddenly make him a poor player. Annoyance at him being injured (again!), which I get, is clouding judgment in my view

    The winner

Put similar in the match thread, but top 10 celebrations for me. Did it a little differently yesterday and had a box with a few school mates, half of whom aren’t Cov fans. But every single one of them was going as mental as me when he scored. It’s a bit of a blur in reality, just pure elation...

Excellent reading back through the thread this morning. Celebrations for the Thomas goal are probably up there in my top 10. EMC and MVE injured. And we hamstrung ourselves bringing BTA on. This will be a well earned win.

Trump is my favourite comedian of the year already

Even taking away the frankly quite shocking content and the things being said in that interview, Vance seems a smug little tosser. He absolutely seems one of those full of self importance and a ‘do you know who I am types’ who, if he wasn’t in politics, would be a nobody.

    Rudoni injury

Re Torp stepping up, I really think it depends how we play. If the midfield is two 6’s and a 10, with him at 10, that isn’t ideal. One 6 and two 8’s suits him better, but then you have the issue of Sheaf playing 8, which doesn’t really suit him. Big fan of Torp as I appreciate good technical...
