I haven’t 100% given up, but even I’m at ~90%. We know he has it in him, but whether it’s confidence or mentally or both, he isn’t quite there. I hope if he doesn’t leave FL et al find a way to man manage and motivate him. Not sure what the stats say, but anecdotally we looked better with him...

I think the OP is fair to question why there was still seemingly a lack of plan B. Yep, it’s the first game of the season, but it’s the same symptoms of last. We’ve had the summer to address it and haven’t. He’s also had the same group to work with, so all have had a full pre-season to take on...

I really, really don’t want Vardy. He doesn’t fit our system, his legs are going and questions over his attitude. People’s dislike of our current striker force is clouding judgements. Also, it’s clearly bollocks.

I like Grimes, he’s technically ability, composure and reading of the game are brilliant. I don’t mind the passing backwards, sideways as he recycles the ball really well and keeping possession is key. However, appreciate it’s the tactic, but occasionally we have to switch it up. Let him play...

As others have said, easing him in as you aren’t going to get exposed at LW in the same way as would at LB. He has good technique and wants the ball. Interested to see more of him, but there’s no way he should be staring LB at this point

No plan B - again. A nothing performance from Wright - again. Zero impetus or attacking thread - again. Not sure how we want to play the 3-2-5, which needs quick ball, but then play so ponderously. There are some positives and obviously lots of time left, but what a frustrating start.

He’s a nice bloke and runs lots, but BTA cannot be our starting striker. He’s technically so poor.

Perry, Torp, KKH, MVE, Sakamoto all came out on top for me (albeit some in shorter cameos). Grimes, JDS, Simms solid enough. Everyone else was ok. Nobody had a stinker. Rushworth made two great stops and certainly wants to play forward and quickly. Shame we keep every player back form corners...

I’m a Simms fan and believe there’s a players there, but even so he massively frustrates me. However, he definitely looks better against higher level opposition. He’s been better today and is 1000% better suited to this system than BTA.

Heard the tannoy announcements for how to use the turnstiles every 5 mins and it’s a small crowd. Hull is going to be carnage.

Crowd and atmosphere are like L2 days! Not a complaint btw as it’s a friendly etc. Quite like having the space actually.
