EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

Not a lot because if a football club cannot afford to play, and has expressed their financial concerns prior to the decision of resuming to play, then what action can be taken?

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

A lot of the swing voters are claiming that they'll go with the flow and vote with whatever appears to be the most popular decision during the meeting. At the minute that gives us the advantage but the vote is certainly going to be tight.

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

Revealed: How League One sides intent to vote in EFL meeting Alarmingly there are 6 fence sitters who are being described as swing voters. This isn't great news for us at all if true given that as much as 40% of the league already want the season to continue.

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

Apparently the number of teams wanting to resume the season has risen to 9.

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

I personally don’t think they’re going to opt for the extended play-offs. They need to be seen to be as consistent as possible with regards to how L1 and L2 are finished. If they give in to demands about teams as low as 11th getting a chance at achieving promotion, it could cause the EFL issues...

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

Not sure that would work would it? There's already a fair few weird and wonderful ideas clubs have put forward to the EFL for consideration and frankly some are just plain ridiculous. Clubs cannot be trusted with putting forward viable options as the majority are working within their own...

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

They're obviously going to put something to a vote. But the question is what - as at the minute there seems to be 3-4 different options on the table. IMO dreaming up all these different outcomes to try and appease pretty much all clubs in the league is completely counter productive and will...

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

Like I said, they're trying to please everyone. I can't see it being as simple as - we've given you an ultimatum so decide. There's too many ideas flying about so realistically a resolution doesn't seem any closer to being found than it was at the start of the first meeting.

Big loss for them. Interesting that's he's potentially leaving and not waiting for a decision on their fate for next season...

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

The issue really lies solely with DM - even more so now PPG could be enforced if a resolution cannot be found. I do feel that the next meeting may be as disappointing as the last though. Given the amount of ideas that have been floating around over the weekend it's pretty clear they're trying...

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

Hardly a surprise. With all the bickering still going on there’s no guarantees that anything will be achieved from a meeting tomorrow. There’s also still so many ideas floating about. E.g. standard play-offs, 3rd-8th or even as far as 3rd-10th play-offs, relegation play-offs between Wimbledon...

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

His whole argument is completely hypothetical. I hope he isn’t planning on using these arguments in his impending legal battle.

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

DM now claiming that Peterborough missing out on promotion would cost them £25m for Ivan Toney. He’s a complete disillusioned idiot.

Watch the ‘united’ front break apart like dried play-doh now.

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

I think they’d finish 5th under weighted PPG

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

Doesn’t believe they are far in front enough to warrant going up automatically

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

Won’t look good if the FA and/or EFL refuse to accept & ratify the result of a members' vote. They've told clubs they have to come to an agreement so not accepting it when they do is a PR disaster

Because Daragh MacAnthony is a bellend.

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

It’s not a formal agreement no, but after making such a racket about forming a ‘united’ front it’ll highlight him for the babbling bafoon that he really is once he inevitably does a 180 on his own statement.
