    What Was Your…

Epic 0-0 with Liverpool in 1969 at Highfield Road. Seem to remember it rained heavily the whole game, and was a right dong-dong battle from start to finish, with City achieving a priceless point that helped us stay up.

    Songs We No Longer Sing

I'd love to see the contents of this thread read out at the next meeting of the SAG, and watch them choking on their coffees.

    Songs We No Longer Sing

Pretty minimalist, but in the Jimmy Hill years (and probably a bit later) I can remember "Cooooventry, Cooooventry" reverberating around Highfield Road. Didn't matter what age you were, and you didn't need to know any words, so it was really the ENTIRE crowd. Surprisingly inspiring.

    South Stand home end?

They are physically more or less the same, but I don’t know if you’ve watched many games from the North Stand? Like a lot of people I would normally prefer to be behind a goal, but in wet weather or on a sunny day (i.e. a high proportion of the time) that stand is not great. Hence the relative...

    Blocks 2 & 3..

It sounds like the club would be held responsible in the event of a safety incident, and if they had deliberately decided to go against the advice of the SAG they could be in legal trouble. So it may be just advice, but it's advice you are pretty much obliged to follow.

    Blocks 2 & 3..

I'm sure that's the case, but it would be good to know whether it's possible, and if not, exactly why not. If there are physical constraints that would be impossible to overcome, that would at least be useful to understand. But if it's just inertia, or simply that nobody has been asked to look...

    South Stand home end?

Would still be interested to know the exact constraints in the stadium though. If it cost (say) a million to overcome them and improve the attractiveness to home fans, it would pay for itself in no time.

    South Stand home end?

Maybe we can do that again, and keep pushing them one season at a time, all the way along the Main Stand and eventually through the Press Box and the JSB's until we've got them in the North Stand where we want them.

    South Stand home end?

In all the talk about segregating fans etc., a point that usually gets missed is that ridiculously we don’t have a real home presence behind either goal! As mentioned by DadGad and others, the North Stand is exposed to the sun, prevailing winds and rain, and even in the earlier days of the Ricoh...

    Blocks 2 & 3..

Yeah, if it was logistically possible (getting away fans in and out safely etc.) I'd like to see part of the North Stand given to them. The shaded South would be an awesome home end.

    Hull crowd

On what basis can you possibly say this? I live in Warwickshire, and have known numerous Sky Blues fans over several decades. I can't think of a single one who has family ties to Coventry - CCFC have always simply been the team to support if you aren't the ManU/Liverpool glory-hunting type...

    New shirt sponsors next season

Yes exactly, that's the point I was making - naming the stadium isn't very practical publicity for the Building Society, but putting the full name on the shirts is.

    New shirt sponsors next season

I heard that too, but I suspect it's futile. Some press articles might use the full name, but on people's lips (and in people's minds) it's bound to get shortened.

    New shirt sponsors next season

Can’t help thinking that for Coventry Building Society, having their full name on our shirts would be stronger publicity than the naming of the stadium, which is inevitably shortened to the obscure and almost meaningless “CBS”.

    Tyler walker

I'm less convinced than you that when Vik took these two guys on (instead of passing to his right) that he was thinking about setting up Walker for a goal.
