Match Thread Southend United vs. Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 15th Feb

Rotherham is one of our games in hand and is the only game on Tuesday week. If we were to lose it we will lose ground to Rotherham but no one else.

    What a transformation

The taxi drivers don't love him, they keep getting called and then cancelled

    What a transformation

3 years later we are talking of the possibility of playing in the Championship, and no one is laughing at us.

    Next 3 games

We gave ourselves a bit of breathing space last night, I will be reasonably happy with 8 points from the next 5 games. More would be great but 8 will keep on course. If we have to lose one of these games I would rather it wasn't Sunderland, as I think they and Portsmouth are the biggest threat...

    Next 3 games

I think it's more relevant to how our season is likely to finish to look at the next 5 games. Southend, Rochdale, Rotherham, Sunderland, Ipswich. If we can get 8+ points from those games, it will leave us requiring approx. 20 to 22 points from the remaining 10 games, and we will have played all...

    Points targets

Pompy (no prediction - too nervous) Southend 3 Rochdale 3 Rotherham 0 Sunderland 3 Ipswich 1 Shrewsbury 1 Lincoln 3 Wycombe 3 Accrington 1 Peterborough 3 Gills 1 Oxford 1 Blackpool 3 Burton 3 Wimbledon 3 32 points + whatever we can get tomorrow. Would give us 83+

    Points targets

Portsmouth, Sunderland, Peterborough, Oxford are all at home, you really think we are only likely to take 1 point from those 4 games? That is pessimistic

    Sky Blues are going up

Rotherham still have to play: Coventry away Fleetwood away Wycombe away Portsmouth home Doncaster home Sunderland home Seems to me to be plenty of opportunutues for them to drop points

    Sky Blues are going up

Peterborough could be struggling because of the 3 games extra they have played. They can only afford to drop 7 or 8 points to have any realistic chance for autos, and they have to play Portsmouth, Sunderland, and us. On top of that they have potential banana skins, Fleetwood and Burton away.

It doesn't always work like that though does it? Remember Wycombe were 10 points ahead of us not so long ago and looked uncatchable.

51 points. We should be safe from relegation now

Match Thread Coventry City vs. Bolton Wanderers Match Thread - Saturday 8th Feb

Just looking back on Bolton's recent games, I see Portsmouth managed a 1-0 win against them last month, Peterborough beat them 1-0 in December (Peterborough were at home). Sunderland (who were also at home), failed to beat them, as did Bristol Rovers

To be fair, those 3 goals have gained us 4 points

Match Thread Coventry City vs. Bolton Wanderers Match Thread - Saturday 8th Feb

6 wins and 3 draws out of the last 10 games. At least 3 of those games we have not performed as well as expected. Still scored 21 points

Some of our fans are garbage

This is one of the best posts I have ever read on here, if not the best. As far as I can tell every player currently in the team is giving 100%. I always laugh when I hear or read that so-and-so gave 110%, you can't give more than 100%. Every moan about a player, a poor pass, or a missed chance...

    Remaining fixtures

Fortunately it seems Pask can cover for either of them.

This is how good this team is!

They forgot to say that only one team has outplayed us, Rotherham. We totally outplayed Tranmere at home and missed a load of chances, and we lost to Shrewsbury in added on time after being ahead. We may not have been the best team in every game but we always managed to get a result in the other...

    Remaining fixtures

We only picked up 21 points from the remaining 19 games that season. Relegation form.

Transfer Rumour Ryan Giles on Loan - Confirmed

It sounds like he is best coming on as a substitute, as we have used O'Hare, running at pace at tired defenders

    Remaining fixtures

Absolutely. It's also important to remember though, that if we lose 2 or 3 of those difficult home games it's not necessarily the end of our season, there are more than enough winnable games left, even if we lose to some of our rivals for promotion.
