Apparentl Joy threatens liquidation if half stadium is vetoed

Think he might be a bit too busy now - it was announced yesterday that he's the new CEO of Hastings Insurance.

    Callum Ball on SBP

Personally I'm in favour of the disciplined approach, however.... anyone remember the stories of unrest in the club because AB was so regimented in the way everything was done. When Thorn came in and "treated players as grown ups", that seemed to get a positive reaction. Then people get used...

    Why Boo your own players?

Just want to make sure I've got this right..... Are you saying that it is your considered opinion that the players will perform better, the more we boo them?

    Why Boo your own players?

Are you honestly saying that you can't see any difference in effect on a player's (or a team's) confidence between being booed by the opposition supporters and being booed by their own supporters?

    Why Boo your own players?

Football is very much a confidence game. I can just about understand people booing "in the heat of the moment", but surely everyone can see that the effect of booing will be to reduce confidence and thus to reduce performance.

Good player. Wish we still had him.

OLD OLD OLD OLD OLD NEWS : CET: Deal struck for half of the stadium with Higgs Trust

Whilst others maintain that everything was Ranson's (or even more oddly Hoffman the non-exec director's) fault despite SISU having control of the business. Just goes to show that everyone will believe what they want to.

    Welcome Mark Robbins

Welcome and good luck!! Now I don't want to appear unrealistic, but what are the chances of everyone agreeing to give him until at least Xmas before demanding that he's sacked??? ;)

I think it would be safe to say that views are well understood by those who read this forum - however, I do think that on occassions you can overstate your case. When Thorn took over we were in freefall. From 4th in December we were heading rapidly down the table and I was expecting...

    Sky Sports News

One of the joys of life is how we all see things differently - I thought that the football under AB was kick and rush at its worst. Having said that, I think we'd all settle for a few wins from the new manager irrespective of how they come about!!

    Waggot & Fisher - Again

Are you suggesting that that was the general view? If you are, I disagree. Have you ever considered that it's even possible that one or two such statements may have been posted as wind ups?

    Waggot & Fisher - Again

I don't think that we have another Eric Black situation here. I think that that were many who thought that Thorn was doing a difficult job in what were pretty awaful circumstances and felt that some balance had to be set against some of the more vitriolic posters. I wouldn't have been...

    Waggot & Fisher - Again

The forum is a place where people pretty much post their own views and choose their evidence (or their spin on it) to support those views. So, you're correct that after the B'ham game a number of "pro-Thorn" posters said what a good job he'd done in bringing in such players. The "anti-Thorn"...

    Anybody else?

Went with my daughter to the game last night. Having a drink before kick off and looking around the assembled Cov fans, I remarked that the average age there was much older than when I used to go to away games in my teens/twenties. I guess it's not surprising. With the dross on offer over...

What went wrong ("wronger!!") last night

Really an awful night to be a Cov fan. Poor performance making an OK team just out of Division 4 look like they'd give Real Madrid a run for their money. So (in my view) what went wrong? Goalkeeper - Murphy got a lot of stick last night and he deserved it for the first goal and for almost...

Only one man to blame for this- Thorn

Didn't have you in mind Lord. Whilst we don't always agree, your posts tend to either have some reason or some humour in them.

Only one man to blame for this- Thorn

True. When the signings looked good, that was the stance taken by "pro Thorn" posters. Conversely "anti Thorn" posters were saying that the credit should go to Waggot (or Shaw or Carsley). Now they're not looking so good, the arguments have been reversed. Oh what fun!!
