    Ccc/acl/higgs/ sisu saga

Having done a fair bit of due diligence in my time - as a buyer, a seller and a consultant - the terms of the lease for the stadium should have been covered pretty much in the first hour of the first day.

    When City sold Hudson

Have to agree. A very strange decision by Poynton.

How well do you know CCFC quiz

    24. I was convinced that Keane's fee was £0.5m more than that nice Mr Bellamy's.

Coventry pay to resurface Sixfields pitch as waggot predicts us playing there

Then I think we will just have to agree to differ.

80% chance of return to Ricoh this season

Well, we had Graydon and Nardiello. Then Steve Hunt came the following year. Anyone else you could think of????????

80% chance of return to Ricoh this season

Not wishing to be picky - so now you know I will be - but it wasn't on Boxing Day, although everyone seems to think it was! W played away to Villa on Boxing Day that year (77) and drew 1-1 (I think). It was the game that Graham Oakey got injured in. We then played Norwich on the following...

Coventry pay to resurface Sixfields pitch as waggot predicts us playing there

OK, once more with feeling..... 1. SISU's position is that they are going to build a new stadium. 2. It will take a minimum of 3 to 4 years (in my opinion) to do this. 3. That leaves an interim period where it seems fair to assume that the only options are to play in Northampton or at the...

Coventry pay to resurface Sixfields pitch as waggot predicts us playing there

They are irrelevant for a short term deal while the new stadium is built. This is what SISU tell us they are doing. If they want to drop that plan (or as some might suspect, admit it was never going to happen), and try to negotiate for a long term deal or a purchase of the stadium - at which...

Coventry pay to resurface Sixfields pitch as waggot predicts us playing there

SISU have explained to us all that they are building a new stadium, so the question is - what is best for the club in the interim period? The answer is that they agree a deal to get back to the Ricoh. In this context the much talked about issue of "match day revenues" is a virtual...

Are we allowed to nominate people? :)

    Michael Higdon

I think that in the real world, it is a fairly uncontentious statement to suggest that you may be able to get a better player for a fee, than you may get for a free transfer. That does not necessarily imply a linear relationship between fee and "eventual value".

    Baker going

Yes, we don't know exactly what constraints he was operating under, but on the face of it, it wasn't exactly an unblemished record.

    Baker going

True, but based on the second half of last season, is there anyone that we would keep - except Callum, and that boat has sailed :) Carl had his shortcomings but he was a player who had the capability to "turn" a game. I really don't know if any of the new players have that "in their locker".

    Baker going

My big beef with him was that he gave the ball away too often, however had a good measure of skill - always good to see someone take on and beat a player - and always put plenty of effort in. I wish him well and fear that he'll be missed. As that great football pundit Joni Mitchell sang -...

    New statement

Or effectively your most potent deal blocker that means that you can stay in Northampton on a small percentage of your potential revenue. Depends which way you look at it.......

    New statement

Small steps, but in the right direction. I know I'm going to regret it, but a tiny bit of optimism is starting to form.......

    Nuneaton match thread

Only one for me was in (I think) 1972. We were losing 0-2 to Sheffield Utd when the ref abandoned it due to a blizzard. It was replayed towards the end of the season, after Noel Cantwell had been sacked and Bob Dennison had taken over as caretaker manager. We won that one 3-2! Helped us to...

    People getting excited over nothing

Very bleak scenario. Four, five, maybe even six years in Northampton and then back to a smaller stadium, further outside the city.

Have SISU dropped their appeal ?

I expect that you're right - however the FL would have nothing to discuss on August 7th if SISU told them that they had no objection to the money in escrow being immediately released to ACL. Then - to take my fantasy a stage further - SISU confirm that they won't be appealing the JR and...
