    Question Mark over Academy

No they don't, they need to generate something like £230 more per week (every week of the year) after costs like electric, heating and staffing more than they would without this pitch in place and the space being used for something else for it to be a good idea. If it's a good idea financially...

    Question Mark over Academy

don't be a dick, no one wants to see the city lose the academy, it's about the only thing we have left going for us. this is terrible news, it's also completely reasonable behavior from higgs (at least on the information we have from the article)

    Question Mark over Academy

It's a bit more complicated than that though becuase using 80k loses you the income from the 80k. For instance 80k at 5% interest is 4k a year and the space would have value without the pitch too. It is possible though of course that the expense is viable without the academy and higgs are just...

    Question Mark over Academy

Higgs have the money to pay for the pitch, it's not bad planning it's sensible planning, they now have to decide if it's worth 80k for the next 10 years, without a long term commitment for the pitch to be used they think it might not be.

    Question Mark over Academy

this is why some of you are seen to be so unreasonable, at least based on the information in that article higgs actions are completely reasonable and they are actions of a sensible landlord. They have to make a business decision on whether to invest 80k in order to receive future rental income...

    Question Mark over Academy

There is no reason to believe there has been poor planning, when it was built originally they would have had a long term commitment from the football club so it was worth building, now they have to build it again and without a long term commitment are perhaps not willing to do so. None of us...

    Question Mark over Academy

It was his analogy, I just got it as close as it could be to whats happening.

    Question Mark over Academy

I don't think so no, but if the city academy provides the majority of the income from it then it could very easily be a bad financial decision if the club stopped using it in the near future.

    Question Mark over Academy

The club aren't being expected to pay for the resurface. The charity are saying we might not want to pay for a new pitch when you have only committed to use it for a short period of time. It's not like you paying to replace the rented TV, its you rented for 5 years, 5 years is over, tv is crap...

    Question Mark over Academy

They built it, used it for 10 years as expected all good. Now they need to decide if they want to build it again, however with only a short term commitment to use the pitch think it may not be worth spending the money so are looking to see what else they can do with the space. It's all...

Everybody should reset .... Get behind the team, manager and dare I say it .... SISU

Thats not a good argument, thats just more evidence the club is run by idiots, Just because very long contracts can be stupid doesn't mean that very short contracts aren't stupid. I don't think you go too far wrong with 2 year contracts alongside a proper recruiting and scouting policy that...

Everybody should reset .... Get behind the team, manager and dare I say it .... SISU

Like a 3 month contract for the manager to go alongside the same contract for the majority of the squad? Sisu are continuing to take the piss, everytime we hear from them it's the same nonsense.

Everybody should reset .... Get behind the team, manager and dare I say it .... SISU

Did that when we came back to coventry, against all common sense, despite having it proved to me that sisu don't have the football clubs best interests at heart decided to put it behind me, get behind the team and give them one more shot. Almost immediately we were met with more lies, more spin...

    SCG Meeting

This just further reinforces how stupid the new stadium plan is though. If half of ACL isn't worth 10mill, a 1/3rd of whatever of the new stadium sure as hell won't be. Of course it would be nuts to offer 10mil now rather than have offered a wasps beating deal at the time, however that time is...

    SCG Meeting

Buying half of ACL would get you half the loan too. But yes buying half the Ricoh even at a massively inflated price compared to wasps is much better than building a new stadium.

aww could have gotten someone other than Bill Gates, the man is a hero. If only every Rich person was a Bill Gates or Warren Buffet the world would be a very different and better place.

Fair enough it was whoever wrote this "Simon Gilbert has just popped over to tell me that he has an interesting Coventry City story to share with you this afternoon. It's to do with the club's accounts. Stay tuned for more details. CET"

Agreed, whats happened though is by saying I have interesting news regarding the filing of accounts (when in the same amount of space he could have said Fisher says the accounts have been filed) he made people think the news was going to be very interesting, so when it just turned out to be...

How will Clive Eakin perform on CWR tonight ?

Indeed, the same type of people who want to ignore the circumstances one day, only want to talk about the circumstances on another day. If we'd scored 1 goal more in 3 games we'd be in x place, if the ref had given that penalty we'd have 2 more points, if x player hadn't sliped we'd probably...
