Given that you could either go over or under the turnstile quite easily and cash was involved there was a bit of a three way win. The club could pocket tax free cash,as could the gateman, whilst intimidating fans or those with little kids could save a few shillings. I think it was two...

    Highfield Rd 1969/70

My first match was either the Hibernian friendly or home to Burnley. 1969 anyway and I was six! Loved the club, the players, the kit, the fans, the ground. Started on the Spion Kop with a box to stand on. Used to long to go in the West End but didn't dare till I was about ten. Grew up in...

    Eakinballs

Mate of mine got community service for lamping someone. He had to spend time picking up litter and suchlike. Bet he'd have rather gone on the radio.

    Eakinballs

Did they get Geoff Foster in off the street one day? Stumbled across him commentating on Wasps recently when he obviously had a heavy cold and it was comedy gold. I think the average cat would do a better job. I also love how touchy Eakin gets when a caller suggests they could be more robust...

Checkatrade - time to own up

Warwick Uni students union are offering a ticket to Wasps v Toulouse for a tenner with free transport there and back! Tickets for all other games this season for a tenner too. A good way of generating interest but certainly a loss leader.

To prevent false Wembley ticket claims amongst fans

That's the trouble with this binary opposition between superfans and the glory-hunting 'most fickle fans in the country' in that anyone who hasn't so far attended a Checkatrade match is automatically publicly shamed. Having spent around £700 on season tickets and car park passes I have to date...

    Nuneaton Town Takeover plus Ground

Not sure about that, nor content with blowing Wasps at every opportunity they regularly regale us with the latest developments at, err, Birmingham Moseley RFC.

    Ben Stevenson - Brentford

How annoying that someone who supported this club since 1969 in the top flight, saw European football once (would have been twice but for Heysel), saw us win the FA Cup, saw us signing Robbie Keane, Dion Dublin, Gary McAllister, Craig Bellamy and Mustapha Hadji, stood in crowds over 30,000...
