Sisu make official complaint over Coventry councillors' conduct

When it all looks depressing is the best time to invest. Buy to let has been great over the last few decades but I'd not do it instead of a pension, buy to let has produced higher returns than shares though mostly because you are leveraged (ie investing say 50k but owning 200k of property due to...

I have funds rather than individual shares, passive index trackers from vanguard mostly. One Tracks the FTSE Allshare index (20% of the money), One Tracks the rest of the developed world not including uk (50%) One Tracks Emerging markets (15%) One is Global small companies tracker (10%) and I...

Thanks mate, I think I've got it covered now though and everything is set up a good amount going into the pension each month, a decentish match from her employeer, low TER funds chosen and a maxed stocks and savings ISA each month in 5 different funds (cheap passive trackers). I just need to put...

I don't expect interest rates and inflation to do what they did in the 70's and I don't think the bank/government would let it, suddenly those 80% mortgages on a 250k house get very expensive. If they did though not only do your future payments go up so does the value of the companies and thus...

I must admit I don't know a great deal about final salary pensions, All my learning about pensions/isa/bonds/shares etc has been to make sure that my wifes finances are all sorted and she is saving properly for her future while I'm still around to help. Which is done now, So hopefully when she's...

If inflation is at 2% a year for that 40 years, that 500k is worth about 300k in real terms. Which is enough for you to be comfortable in your retirement however long it is. (I know you were joking but thought it was interesting to respond seriously)

Wasps can force a buyback of the bonds but only at an increased rate to they were sold at (it's about 5% but it changes overtime), if the value of the bonds fall and bond holders wish to sell them then of course wasps could buy them at that price, they aren't like shares though the price isn't...

I don't know your situation but alot of people who don't think they can save can do. Cashback sites + moving your gas/electric/skytv/broadband/house insurance/car insurance/mobile phone contract can easily save you a grand a year. put that into a works pension it's increased to £1200 because of...

That's great mate :-) Nothing to do with CCFC but then neither really is sisu telling tales on the council followed by 80 pages of us shouting the same old stuff at one another, might as well have something good come from it

You will be able to take your works pension at 55 (well it might be a bit higher by then) you don't have to wait untill state pension age. Properly saving for your future is exactly what will save you from having to work untill 70.

Me too especially with how attractive putting money in a pension can be, most people aren't fully informed though and don't realise just how much harder it is to save for retirement if you start in your 40's instead if your 20's. It's very easy to put things off that won't affect you for 40+...

I'd say that stat suggests I'm right not wrong. if 40% of people are contributing to a work scheme currently then it's extremely likely that well over 50% of over 30's have a work or private pension.

Alot of pension plans will have say 10% in a corporate bond fund which will contain many different companies bonds to spread the risk.

yes seriously I think the majority (as in a percentage over 50) of people over 30 have a works pension (especially as its now becoming compulsory to offer one) and nearly all of these pensions will have the money in a mix of mostly shares and bonds. Just because people don't realise they are...

most people will own shares too which are riskier than corporate bonds, alot of pensions funds will have corporate bonds too as by owning shares, corporate bonds, government bonds and maybe a little cash you reduce the volatility.

    Transfer funds

11k sounds very optimistic to me with no extra investment in the squad, before the ticket price cut and the extra optimism from TM we were looking at an average more like 7k imo, now I'm sure it will be better than that now but we need to recruit very well and of course sign mowbury for 11k to...

    Transfer funds

From what we've heard the budget is going to be similar at best to last year, I would not be expecting any transfer money spent whatsoever. We just have to hope what little money we have is spent wisely.
