Do ACL need us or not?

Its already been stated that our £10k per match just covers costs. That tells me we are being ripped off big style and ACL have got plenty of room for movement and the club have got hardly any if they want to survive or certainly compete at the top end of the table. As much as I'm no fan of...

Do ACL need us or not?

Yes but I'm talking about profit not income. You can have as much income as you like but the fact is without our income they make a loss. Its also (or should be) guaranteed income and what business wants to walk away from that. Not sure how many outdoor middle of December concerts they...

Do ACL need us or not?

According to reports ACL made a £470k profit last year. Our rent last year was is £1.28M We are currently paying £10k per match which covers costs (Therefore ACL aren't making a loss). ACL currently claim they dont need and can survive without us but my maths says different and without us...

Oh to be Hull - why can't Coventry Council halp CCFC

I dont think Coventry Council and the word help have been formally introduced. I still point to Ipswich and their 100% council owned ground. Rent £30,000 per year.

What the Ricoh has done for Coventry

In hindsight that position would probably never have arisen. In its simplest form the idea was to buy land, sell land, sell highfield Rd and build ground from the profit. Sounded good at the time. Getting relegated followed by TV deal collapse in the championship killed it and the gamble now...

Free Radio report a Statutory Demand issued to CCFC

I've mentioned it on another thread but compare it to Ipswich Town 100% council owned ground. Rent dispute from 2004 - 2012 (resolved this year) with no rent being paid. Council wanted to increase from £15k to £110k per year (yes per year). During the 8 years of non payment did the council...

    Fisher on CWR

Just wanted to add something by way of comparison. Portman Road is owned 100% by the council and in 2004 the club and council went into dispute as they wanted to raise the yearly rental from £15k to £110k. No rent was payed by Ipswich Town from 2004 until this year when a compromise was...

    All Ricoh/ alternative ground comments.

This is also the Telegraph that said we had done a deal for half the stadium. Who knows if this article has any factual content. They did spell his name right though.

    Fisher on CWR

Isn't that the point though? We have been making such big losses that we have made drastic cuts. You cant want a nice stable club but also moan that when the cloth is cut we are in league 2. We now appear to be trying to get things on a even..ish keel and this rent is just going to drag us...

    Cov open talks with McGoldrick!?

Perhaps we are in talks to play in his large garden? Also, we are talking about the CET here and we had done a deal for half the stadium weeks ago according to them so I only believe what they say if its a match result (and then I'm doubtful).

Sisu, John Clarke , Tim Fisher ...

But they have invested in the team. Not much in terms of transfer fees except Barton, but a decent wage bill to build a team for this league. You can blame SISU for a lot but not the quality of the players the budget was used on.

    All Ricoh/ alternative ground comments.

No I don't. I think its just forcing an agreement to be reached. I just hope more of a compromise can be reached than the 50% offered as that's still too high at this level. One thing I would like clarification on, is what is the subsidised overhead costs amounting to millions of pounds that...

    Keep the Faith

Well, when the clubs down the dumper at least you'll be able to easily access the 2013 Vinyl Flooring Exhibition and be glad of your part ownership.

The final 8 - Can we do this ?

That list is a real who's who of the football world. You'd have to be confident of winning the thing now Donny, Brentford and Sheff Utd are all out. I just can't raise any enthusiasm for it though.

Tonight were we good or were the Blades poor

The Blades rested a few so they were clearly more interested in the league and we needed to keep the momentum going so played our strongest team. Difficult to judge really but neither team looked particularly good tonight.

Am I totally on my own

Yes that doesn't make winning it much of an achievement. People say winning it was the spring board for their success. I'd say it was £1M on Ricky Lambert, more than that on Billy Sharp plus a very healthy wage budget that was the catalyst. We won the Southern Floodlight Cup once but who talks...

Am I totally on my own

I agree. I went tonight but only as it was cheap and I wanted our form to continue for the league, a win is a win and all that. Prior to this season the JPT was a joke and just because we are now in it doesn't make me change my mind. Its still a joke and should we get to the final I can't...

Best Cov match in last 20 years, i'll try and put it on here next week have your say

Another one that sticks in the memory was when Dublin and Boateng came back to HR with Villa. I think it was 1-1 and the game itself was no great shakes but the atmosphere was one of the best I can remember. The stick Dublin got was great. I've nothing but fond memories of the guy now but at the...

    The Missing 20,000 Fans

Agreed, after a decade or two in the lower leagues, if we ever made it back to the Prem the place would sold out most weeks, certainly for the first season. Like I said, our core support is small but a taste of the big time again would get the majority of entire fan base fighting for tickets. At...
