Match Thread Leeds United - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 16th Dec

same 11 for me and earlier changes if needed for fatigue. Fully expecting Leeds to be better than Southampton and more dangerous in the final 3rd, so another good test for the new look defence

    Stonewall pen

agree shouldnt need to but we are talking about a lino that had no idea who to give almost every throw in to, they need a bit of encouragement 😂

Match Thread Coventry City - Southampton Match Thread - Wednesday 13th Dec

haha we'll agree to disagree - the only half of football in the last 5 games the tactics were tweaked and the only half of football we have lost we'll see what MR plumps with on Wednesday

Match Thread Coventry City - Southampton Match Thread - Wednesday 13th Dec

i'm not saying we were horrendous, im just saying i think we could have done things differently and got a better result if we had played our game as opposed to adapting to suit - hindsight is wonderful, but tbf when was the last time MR made 3 changes at half time so he clearly knew he had got...

i'd argue all of that was in the 2nd half after making 3 subs at half time and changing formation, we lost the first half 2.0, and shouldve won the 2nd half 2.0, had we started the way we finished the game could've got something out of it

just hope Robins doesnt bottle it and switch up formation again because we're playing a stronger team. I've no doubt we'd have got something out of Ipswich if we didnt change our tactics for them! I'd rather give it a good go and lose than change formation and lose anyway!

    First 3 names on teamsheet

Question came up in pub last night - this season who's your first 3 names on the team sheet (assuming all players fit if it helps)? It came up because last season was pretty obvious for all of us but his season it seemed much harder, dont know if its a good thing because we have spread our...

Match Thread Ipswich Town - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 2nd Dec

they've had a great start and are there on merit, i dont think they'll stick it out and still be there in May though. Hopefully their recent dip in form continues and we can come away with at least a point

    Transfer Rumour Haji Wright

I thought he was poor/average for about 70mins last night, didnt press, wasnt creating space, wasnt winning or holding up the ball...but then he popped up and scored, which is what he is there to do! and immediately he looked better for it, maybe partly because Simms was helping him out a bit...

    Leeds away - £45

Free travel would have been the right compensation for Cov fans travelling. But how anyone can blame us as much as Leeds for this is mental. They've come up with a ridiculous price in the first place. since when did Leeds have the right to determine prices for all other clubs, they could only...

    McFadzean

Fadz has earnt a hell of a lot of credit (a lot like Robins) - give him the choice, if he wants to play he plays, if he wants 3 weeks off, he gets 3 weeks off. Absolute warrior and wish him and all his family the best

Match Thread Coventry City - Stoke City Match Thread - Saturday 11th Nov

We are playing far too negatively and sit too deep. All because we are playing a back 5 (incl 4 CBs) and 2 DMs who aren't bothered in driving forward. That leaves the top 3 far too isolated with little chance to do a lot and a huge gap between MF and STs. Effectively playing 7-0-2. Highly doubt...

Squad Ratings so far this season

Kitching is an odd one, by the end of the season i expect him to be starting, not sure whats happening in the meantime! DaSilva i like, nothing overly fancy but a decent performer, a bit like Bidwell tbf but more for the future Cant find much else i disagree with!

Match Thread Coventry City - Blackburn Rovers Match Thread - Wednesday 4th Oct

yea i dont think Wilson was in control of the ball, but i do think he was fouled, so right end result. The referee and linesman had absolutely no clue, they were appalling. The ref admitted he couldnt see it after, he didnt immediately award the goal or a free kick, then just let the players...

    Binks

I like Binks and tbf i'm really happy with all our defensive signings in the transfer window. Lati looks class and can cover a few position Thomas has his moments but drives forward and is a bit no nonsense Binks also gets forward and seems to win most duels - shame its a loan Kitching - looked...

Match Thread Coventry City - Norwich City Match Thread - Saturday 7th Oct

Wilson Thomas Fadz Binks Lati Eccles Allen Da Silva Ayari Godden Simms Think we are edging closer to seeing Kitching getting more minutes but maybe not starting yet. Midfield looks weak but we have little choice MR wont drop Godden and although i would have for Blackburn game, he did well...
