Found two BB plants in the lawn where the squirrel had moved the seed to! Now transplanted back to the legume bed!

Will be putting the spuds in at the weekend (nicely chitted now), but soil still a bit cold and wet for things like parsnips and carrots. Over-wintered a few rows of broad bean (Aquadulce Claudia), but they have taken a battering in the storms, so i'll get some more sown in the next week or two...

    Coronavirus

People with Type 1 diabetes GENERALLY have fewer underlying complicating health issues than type 2 diabetics (who are frequently overweight, which is a massive risk factor for cardiovascular and respiratory disease). They should both be advised to isolate. But i still firmly believe that...

My missus made a ragu essentially from tomatoes and red lentils last night. Depth of flavour and texture was simply amazing! Turns out she's been spiking my bolognese and chilli with lentils for ages! And i adore dhal. Prefer the tarka variety, as it's a little 'otter!

I've never really bothered saving seed, etc. Seems more trouble than it's worth, and there is a risk of them not coming up "true" (especially for F1 hybrids), as well as potential for disease. Also never thought of buying seeds off eBay - do you get the main producers? King are very good...

    Supermarket shortages

My sister takes my 89-year-old mum shopping every week. She is insisting on carrying on as normal (I lived through the blitz, etc, etc), but i think she's going to get a bit of a rude awakening on Friday morning at 10 o'clock!

The 'not so obvious' hot babes thread!

Korean? I shared a rented house with a Korean couple a while back. The wife was forced to get up at the crack of dawn every morning to start cooking with fish sauce. Stank the whole house out - though she was very pretty in a kimono at that time of the morning, so i could forgive her most...

    Coronavirus

My issue is this - i am generally optimistic by nature, and tend to think that there is a lot of scaremongering being put out by the media (and ESPECIALLY social media) based on ignorance, or at the very best a very small amount of factual scientific knowledge about this novel disease. So i...
