Manchester City - 115 Charges (4 Viewers)

I think youre right about them being expelled, but that would be down to the member clubs not the PL.

Would we vote to expel them? Given we have Mfuni on loan from them, and that we weren't in the PL at the time of all this, I think there's every chance we would abstain in any vote about it.

.....and FL played for them in 2014/15 🤔
I think the vote will be 19-1 to kick them out.

The owners will play the witch hunt/race card if they get to the appeal. They really have no other way of deflecting the depth they went to cheat.

To be fair a lot of the real fans seem to be ashamed of what the club has done.

It’s only the weird plastics defending them now.
Somehow they've managed to become everything they hate about United and more, whilst still retaining a massive chip on their shoulder about United anyway.

Those that live in and around Manchester that I have met are totally blinded by the amount of money the owners have spent to redevelop the areas around the Etihad.
That's the thing with it IMO,it will way heavily, political influence etc.

The facilities are great etc but they're entirely private and bring little benefit to the surrounding areas

When TfGM built the Metrolink line to Ashton that stops at the Etihad, they didn't get a penny in contribution from Man City.

I think we would. I imagine all clubs would vote to expel them. We won't base our decision on Mfuni.

Ultimately, this all likely leads us to needing to be better than two teams this season, not three. We'll defo vote to expel them.

It seems likely they will be relegated doesn't it? Which means only 2 teams we need to finish ahead of to stay up

We used to be a cursed club and now it feels like we have the luck of the Irish!

Might they appeal to the High Court?

That would be a worry as it would kick it in the long grass for years. Also brings the spectre of them getting off on a technicality!

I'm not sure they can? I think for terms of being a premier league member you can only appeal through the one avenue and then no more appeals, kind of how Southampton couldn't do endless appeals about the spying saga.

If I've understood it correctly, the EPL rules rule out any appeals other than their own appeals procedure.

But, if we get relegated, next season we will be in the same league as them.

Surely the Premier League also have to look at themselves that it was allowed to happen for so long?

Will be interesting to see what bollocks they have for punishment.
How were they supposed to check out all the information when they withheld all information? Withholding information has become a large part of the charges against them.

Starting in 2018. If they were withholding information then punish them instantly. Don't them win multiple PL trophies and spend a billion on players.

Most of the Prem clubs Lawyers are in play this week earning a fortune already !

There'll be others just like it as well I'm sure maybe to a lesser extent,is be taking a look at Chelsea for sure.

Maybe not it would depend where and if the EFL allow them in.Then it's the NFL they have to appeal to and so on .My thoughts are they the EFL would like to let them in but then you have to consider promotion and religation. The Premier League have got to give them enough points deduction to put them down then it would mean only 2 others would go.

So if they don't get let into the football league they're going to completely change sports!

Looks like Burnham has been on the Abu Dhabi payroll as Manchester major… 😉

To be fair he was actually talking about the investment in Manchester and he then goes on to basically say he can't comment on the football case as in it is on going so a standard political answer.

He'll be recalled if they are dumped out of the league imo

Depends if they have a recall clause or not in the agreement. They could only do it January if they do.

They could technically have included a performance clause and recalled him if he wasn't getting the promised game time. With the Amenda injury, I highly doubt that's a problem now.

The only other way they could have recalled him early was if they had a major injury crisis and were severely short of players. Again, don't think that's likely to be applicable, and I think it'd be for the League to decide on anyway.

This is my understanding of it, anyway.l, from a quick read up earlier. If anyone knows more about it, I'm happy to defer to their knowledge.
