It is true.

we got linked with plenty of quality over the summer but nothing materialised

Look at the players in, not one would be over 50k

Loftus cheek, Ross Barkley alike linked but nothing

it’s all good and well playing it safe financially but not going for it is unforgivable
 
It’s the lack of fight and aggression for me I saw the same Sunday and it does make you wonder if the dressing room is behind him or not. I’ve loved having Lampard and thinking he would take us forward but I’m really not seeing it right now and I just can’t see a win as things stand.
Heads are down and confidence low, we need a result to get going but if he can’t pick them up then I think King will do what he did with Robins.
But if he pulls the plug on Lampard serious questions need to be asked of Dean Austin and of himself because if the salary cap stuff is true then he’s wasted our first and best chance in 25 years.

The Coventry City of 12 months ago would’ve won that game tonight

Didn't someone say the 50k wage cap is bollocks, and we have players on more than that? Can't remember who said it tbf, and if they're ITK or not.

Given the average in the league is 70/80k a week - I’ve always doubted this rumour.

Doug isn’t gong to unnecessarily hamstring us

I think its totally believable. We had one of the lowest wage bills in the championship

I don’t totally disbelieve it, just doubt it.

If we’ve capped ourselves then Doug hit his ceiling. The club isn’t going to be worth more than it is now. Time for him to sell up

I was told that we are playing at least one player more than 50k and he is currently injured, he may well have been boosting it for his mates though.

The defending of the goals tonight had nothing to do with coaching. First goal, for the 2nd game in a row, Thomas tried to play offside and got it horribly wrong. First corner goal, non-existent marking. Second corner goal, possibly the most embarrassing goal I have seen scored from a corner, ball never gets above knee height then Abraham is totally unmarked.
Thomas was shocking tonight, did he pass to a blue shirt other than one 5 yards away. We have a massive issue in that our centre half's cannot pass a ball quickly or accurately so everything either slows down or the ball is coming straight back.
Finally, how bad was Oneyka when he came on. He just didn't look interested, summed up by his cross to nobody when he could have gone on another 20 yards, and nothing like the player we had last season.

Who do we think in that squad is on more than 50k a week… can’t think of anyone who would be….

I was told by someone what one player was on and it was more.
But as,I said, Saddles knows more than me
