Some was rubbish in league 2 some were not, but those that were there provide the best support.
 
The trouble in our queue, was the amount of time the twat stood at the turnstile, was taking to do a search.
The turnstile was stood empty while he was still carrying out his search.
 
We had a guy filming himself going up and down the steps in block 20 very strange goings on!!😝

He's been working freelance for the BBC and others since Free Radio got taken over and all the regional programming removed. He said on Sunday at the Blaze game he's been offered a gig in Dubai so probably a bit too far to commute back on a matchday!

Well yeah I felt uncomfortable too, but I think the point is to support through the uncomfortable moments too. Not least because it makes the good times sweeter. Ultimately each to their own, but sticking through the bad times seems sensible to me. In fact in some ways I love that I haven’t just chosen to be a Man City, Arsenal fan etc who don’t even seem to understand the value of a win because they just expect it.
 
This isn’t so much about the matchday experience, and perhaps it belongs in its own thread, but I just don’t feel as connected to the club this season.

Whether it’s a promotion hangover, a football hangover (World Cup), or something else and the season doesn’t feel as though it has properly started yet. The first game genuinely felt like a friendly. Hull felt like one of those really poor Championship games, just like against that lot last season. The City game felt like an FA Cup day out that we were fairly relaxed about losing, albeit we played well. Then Brighton was simply ridiculous and left me with a feeling awful and I haven't felt like that as a Cov fan in years.

I’m not criticising the club, but so much has changed and it’s often the little things that then add up. The recruitment has felt very similar in terms of the profile we have gone after. The “COV COV COV” thing feels annoyingly odd to me, as does the new elephant logo. The whole “Motor City” thing is a bit meh while “WLADITT” has become boring and “It Had to Be Cov” just doesn't make any sense me at all, just annoying. Can we please bring back ELO and Mr Blue Sky maybe?

This is obviously the direction the club wanted to go in and perhaps I would feel differently if we had won a couple of games, but we haven’t. At the moment, it all feels slightly off, as though we haven’t really started yet or it just isn’t quite us.

The turnover of players probably contributes to that too. So many new lads have arrived with some of the core having left, one is still at the club and not even registered! Perhaps the players themselves aren’t sure whether they belong in the Premier League, and maybe some of us don’t feel that we belong there either?

What I do know is that if we are cut adrift by December, as Wolves were last year then my weekends will start to look very different. Yes, that might sound dramatic and fickle but I can’t help how I feel about it all right now.

I noticed this on Saturday and could be solved by doing all that before hand really.
 
Can't blame them, it's a shitty job, especially if people are getting irritated by your presence. I'd definitely go out of my way to be awkward simply to get some job satisfaction from it :)

Very similar to be honest. I’d add the pre match fireworks and Huddersfield Town home kit to the mix.

For me, it’s also partly due to the steady deterioration not in numbers but in quality of support over the past 2 or 3 years. Song variety is poor, and invariably nicked from other clubs, but more than that there seems to be less understanding of what the right song is for the circumstances and the opponents. If I hear football in a library when the home support has actually been pretty good once more…..

We were genuinely good away in League 1 and 2, and even better the first season after Covid, but it’s just got worse and worse with the bigger crowds. Very tinpot now

Lets All Sing Together (given to us by Jimmy Hill) - apart from that, which songs are originally ours?

I suppose we could include la la la but we're not adding anything new, just copying Dasilva and the players. I think we're the only fan base with it though.

All our staples are pretty generic and even Take me home was United, Team of Breen, United again, In our Coventry Homes - Liverpool first. I would claim we had a wheelbarrow but we don't sing it any longer and Notts County claim it as theirs.

Generally shouted down over the summer, as it was "all worth it to be competing against the best in the world"

Which is total bollocks.... did anybody really enjoy it because it was Haaland who scored against us last week?

the Premier League is very corporate, and the club does seem to have taken that on a bit over the summer as well.

I think the fanbase have taken a bit of that on as well.... hard to believe 5-10 years ago that if we drew Villa in a cup match we'd have thousands of tickets left....

yes I long for the days when there were 6,000 watching us lose to Forest Green Rovers - it was so real, so authentic.

I’ve written to Doug as I think we really lost our identity when we stopped playing “boys in blue” by Cannon and Ball. Tugged my heart strings that did and really felt it was worth more than the game itself.

Football fans choose their games, they always have. Some weeks there used to be 10000 walk-ups. Other weeks it was just the die hard fans.


The Villa game in this cup warrants no additional interest without an incentive. Part with £40/£32 and it is even less attractive.

Add to that the fact that the club had been fairly busy taking our money off us and I can see why there will be 8000-10000 empty seats.

The Brighton game ruined any prospect of the crowd being bigger.

There are 24000 season ticket holders, all invested in the club and you focus on the plastics. Travelling away is good. The atmosphere at the CBS has been OK…despite what we’re up against, apart from people going for a drink less than half an hour into the games. Then there’s those who choose to leave. It’s all in the mix as far as creating an atmosphere. The club also farked up in as much as fans lose confidence in the owners decision making ref season ticket complexities/ matchday ticket prices etc.

The club is not selling itself at a crucial time in our history.
They messed around with the music/ blast it out/ stifling any fan enthusiasm. The dock that shouts over the PA does not help.

It’s bloody hard enjoy things when we are being stifled as fans during the run up to kick off. Fireworks/ shit music/ flames….they all mean nothing to us. They don’t understand. WLADITT seems to be flat now….why? Because we’re silenced by the fokking DJ messing with things.

To have the fans turn up despite this is commendable.

King needs to work hard with the fanbase, get in amongst us and listen to what is happening in the stands/ concourse before the game.

wladitt was ruined by the old team messing around with it. Now no one knows how many renditions there are. The new team seems to be sticking with 2, which will work if everyone can get in time.

The staff at the Arena are a fucking joke. I mean where do they get these people from , behind the kiosks or doing security, they’re all agency numpties who have had very little proper training ….geographically where are they from, are they bussing them in from the West Midlands or what ?

This is the problem, they're always training people on the job. Then they don't come back for the next game and you do the same again.

For what they charge pay a few quid more and get some decent staff in.
 
We have just installed a fancy new tunnel. with led screens everywhere. Not sure it will help with match day excpence but guess it will look nice on tv for the 20 seconds its shown
